I've hunted this deer for a while now. Decided before this season, I was going to hunt only him, if I didn't kill him, I would be ok not getting one this year and try again next year. Saw some does in a clearing in a small thicket this morning. Watching them through my binos, the buck blew through too quick to get a shot. He checked the does and got on. There's a cleared fenceline on the other side of the thicket then a deep hardwood hollar where I was sure he lived. I thought to myself the only chance I had was to slip up the hill to where I could see him crossing that fenceline going back into the woods. I got out of my shooting house and walked about 150yards up the hill to where I could see up the fenceline. He jumped out of the thicket and stood right in the fenceline. 150yard shot freehand, DRT. I know he's not a giant by many standards, but he's the biggest I've gotten pictures of and he is the one I wanted. There are a thousand things that could've gone wrong but one thing went right, the Lord blessed me and my efforts this morning. Kind of sad knowing he's gone and I wont be able to hunt him anymore. But I passed on a nice 8pt this year that looked just like my buck did three years ago, when I started getting pics of him. His blood lives on.

Awesome story. Great looking buck.

On the distance I like to walk to my stands: “The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”

I sat until 300 my feet started to hurt from the cold so I packed my stuff and left!
Congrats on the kills.
I'm pretty sure right now I couldn't see much less kill a deer in a little pen high fence property!
The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week. Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.
The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!
