Well it looks like I'll be using my wife's 02 Xtrra from now on since my truck was a total loss. We talked it over and have decided that I'll buy a nice (used, under $15k) family vehicle right now. Then we she goes back to work in a year or so (which will be the first time in five+ years because she raising the babies) then I'll be able to get me a new truck of my choosing since everything has been on me the last several years. I thought that was a good deal.
I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

Geno, back when I was in sales, the company provided us with sedans. Every 60,000 miles we would get a replacement and I would immediately put a 1.5 inch hitch on it to accommodate a hitch rack. Hauled several deer away from Oakmulgee on sedans! :-) I hauled a 230 lb pig to the processor in the car and they laughed a little and said the biggest deer they ever got came out of the trunk of a crown vic lol. Pawpaw used to haul deer in the trunk of his 87' Monte Carlo luxury sport...throw down some of that heavy plastic and go at it...back about 1989 I remember them hunting some agriculture land and bringing back several does in the back of that car...looked like a messican lowrider with the weight in the trunk.

I've never done it, but I've sworn for a couple of years now that my next truck will be a 4Runner or Tahoe. (Even though I do make fun of the sissy boys with the trailer hitch racks)
My wife has had a 4Runners a couple of times in the past, and I loved pulling the boat with them, but just never thought of hunting out of em. But the place I hunt now, you could drive a car down most of the roads. What's sissy about a trailer hitch rack? I've been driving a Sequoia for three years now and I love being able to keep my stands and gear locked up during hunting season. I do miss being able to haul stuff in the bed of a truck sometimes. The racks are nice to use even if you drive a truck. It's a chore to pull a 200 lb deer in the bed of a truck by yourself. It's much easier to slide them up on a rack.

I have a 2003 Front wheel drive Hyundai Santa Fe with one of those sissy trailer hitch cargo loaders on it. Works fine for where I hunt I wouldn't take through any serious mud but it gets the job done

I have hunted out of a 96 Jeep grand Cherokee for the past 17years. 253K on it currently. I have been considering going with a truck though and camper shell. I do like the storage space in the Jeep but I also need bed space for lumber, etc. Would be cheaper to just buy a trailer lol.

I've used my Ford Explorer for years. Like others have mentioned, I can keep everything in the back dry and secure. I own a small trailer and a 4 wheeler for hard to access areas. Ditto for me.

If you're looking at 4Runners, also keep an eye out for a 1991-1997 Land Cruiser or Lexus LX450. Often cheap, but built like a tank. Inline 6 with solid front axle. Heavy but with a set of mud tires they can go through quite a bit. Some have front and rear differential lockers too, so look for the round knob to the left of the steering wheel.

I know a guy who has an older model Sequoia (Similar in size to 4runner) and it has the V8, and I'd love to have it..
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

I've got a 98 Cherokee XJ with 4" lift and 31 x 10.50 mud tires. Before that I had a 99 Cherokee XJ with stock sized mud tires. It's the best way to go. Having a 5x8 trailer is a must for when you really need to haul some stuff

Years ago I pulled up the processor in a 1997 Maxima. They thought I was there to pickup and order until I popped the trunk and said "one of you girls going to come help me with this big 6?" They about died laughing but helped me unload him.

Sounds like my jeep. I love that thing ill take it wherever a four wheeler goes and I can keep all my hunting stuff in it for every season. I know mine gets the shucks ran out of it but it is tough
