I've got a Leupold VX-III 1.75x6x32 on my Rock River Predator Pursuit AR. I like a low power scope for where I hunt. Small greenfields and cutovers.

You're not going to have time to shoot one at 700 yards. They don't stand there looking stupid like a deer. I'd suggest just working with distances that don't require scope adjustments around Alabama.
12x on the high end is probably plenty... mainly because I would not want anything with more than 4 power on the low end. They'll run up on you and you can't find them in the brush with high power on the lower end.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

That added to enough practice to use the reticle to range and knowing your drop at all distances would be as fast as anything I could think of.

I'm man enough to admit this... there is no Friggin way I could go sit down in an unfamiliar setting look up and see a coyote...range it on the move at 700 yards, even with a range finder, then take my eye off it, adjust my scope.. then get back on him, and get the shot off before he potentially moved 100 yards either direction. And I'm not practiced enough anymore to use a mil-dot to get the range outside an urban setting, but even then I still got to measure something and coyotes are pretty variable in size. The dog's movement.... And that is a miss. He ain't a big target. Standing stationary like he was hunting a mouse... maybe could do that. I'm pretty good too....

I'm not talking about shooting to 700 yards. The man asked my budget. I do have some beanfields with that kind of yardage for shooting paper.
