I know I've read on here that some of you have gout. I don't yet know if I do but I don't think it would hurt much worse if I just cut my right foot off.
It's not the big toe, it's the base of the 2nd toe. Now the pain is working it's way up into the middle of my foot. On the top side of my foot, midway back towards my ankle, and the 2nd toe is still throbbing.
Then there's the 12 hours a day I'm on my feet, on a concrete floor. I'm sure that's not helping.
Went to the doctor Monday and they Xrayed it. It's not broken. They drew blood to test my uric acid level but I haven't heard the results yet.
So if it is gout, what can I do?

Drink plenty of water, this will help flush your system. They can give you a steroid and cortizone shot, and will be gone in 8 hours. Lots of foods increase UA level also, just google gout diet and you will see. I deal with this chitt at least once a month, I'm suppose to take meds for it but they make me ache and hurts just as much or more, so I just deal with it.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Forgot to mention that they did give me a cortisone shot and Toradol shot Monday. I was in very little pain yesterday, but whichever shot helped, wore off today. I feel a thump every time my heart beats.
I drink close to a gallon of water every day. Always have. That's why I don't think it would be increased uric acid level. I did have a 48 hour stomach virus last week and got pretty dehydrated, I guess this could have caused an increase in the levels.

No I don't think I have plantar fasciitis. That makes the bottom of your foot hurt doesn't it?
I wear boots that fit me really well and are very comfortable. It doesn't normally bother me at all, but it's tearing me up with my sore foot.

I've been fighting this for the first time since six months ago. Uric acid results came back low, so they classify it as pseudo gout. It is caused by arthritic joints shedding a substance that builds up instead of uric acid. It pools (builds up) in the joints just like uric. My solution is to keep the arthritis in check as possible to reduce the damage that is similar to uric acid buildup. Yes, it is painful as hell and can run your life if your not careful. Hope this helps as a alternate to classic gout if it applies to anyone out there

Just so y'all know, I tried my bee sting therapy on my toe Sunday. Didn't work the least little bit. OR, maybe the shots on Monday didn't work at all and the bee stings on Sunday are why I had minor pain yesterday.
May have to retest.

Thanks MM, if I get it confirmed I'll go get a bottle of that. I guess it's with the other fruit juices?

Black Cherry Juice from the health food store is the very best I've found for gout.

Things to stay away form beer, red meat seafood wine OMG. I hopes I never gets it. I lives on those things. Hope you get some relief, Fur. My FIL used to get it. A hard knot would come up on his ankle and he just knew he had cancer. I think the cherry juice really helped him.

Black Cherry Juice from the health food store is the very best I've found for gout. Tart black cherry seems to help me more than the kind just labeled black cherry. My weapon of choice is Knudsen Just Tart Cherry, Walmart and the Pig has it.

Finding triggers is a trial and error process. Typically fatty and red meats, rich foods, certain veggies high in purine, yeasty foods including beer.
Colcrys for the flareups Allopurinol for maintenance
Home remedies: water, cherry juice, apple cider vinegar, fasting from bad food list.
I had it bad, allopurinol has been a miracle drug for me. No flares in 4 years
