Yes they're worth the money. Quality made firearm that is built to a great quality level as opposed to a price point. The type of optic depends on the rifles role/roles it will be used for. On my M4V3 I have an Aimpoint micro.
That said another good option of a similar quality tier to consider is Bravo Company. Assemble a lower and slap a BCM upper on and you will have a great rifle cheaper than a Daniel Defense.

I love my DD. The owner is a stand up guy the way he supports the 2nd amendment. As stated above BCM makes great uppers.

My friend has one and it's a quality product imo. Handled great when I shot it. Had an aimpoint micro as well.

"Better" in the world of today's AR is debatable at most price points IMO. Market is Saturated. Was at Shot Show last week and saw... Savage is even getting in the AR market. They've got several new guns coming out.
DD is nice stuff. Is it worth more money? I don't know. Is Mercedes worth more than a Ford to get you from point A to point B? That is the question you have to answer. You've got Yugo's too.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I would agree to a point. The market is saturated with a lot of guns/companies(Del Ton,ATI etc) being built to a specific price point. I would say that a cheaper(sub $650 or so) is fine for casual use but when it comes down to it there are only certains brands to consider for serious usage. Most rifles won't see serious usage so a cheaper rifle is perfectly alright.

DD is good stuff worth the money if you are going to use it for self defense or as a competition rifle. If you are going to run a mag or 2 a month through it or take it varmint hunting occasionally I'd probably look at a cheaper alternative and spend the extra on ammo or an optic.

DD is a quality AR...no question. Worth the upcharge IMO, not hardly.
I'd rather customize a colt 6920 or something from RRA or wyndham.

Thanks for your opinions guys. I appreciate it. I have bought the V7 pro and think I am going to really enjoy it. The rifle has everything I wanted. Yes I plan on shooting a lot. Planning on taking it to talladega this Saturday. Ever sense my wife passed away in July I have decided I need a hobby and shooting more is going to be it. Thanks again guys.

I decided to go with a vortex viper I already have. I am also going to use an aimpoint that I already have. As I understand it in theory I should be able to swap out optics and still stay on zero. Is that correct? I think so with good mounts designed to do that.
