for real Alabama buck, killed ahead of a single dog tracking it. Weight was way over 300 pounds live., that fella killed a buck a week before this one that weighed 305 live, this one was bigger. He gained all that weight from eating those big giant green leaves!

Jesse Henrys buck was a monster and from the same general area. We called it the golden triangle. Wedgeworth-Akron-Greensboro.

What is the deal with the leaves in the bottom right of the picture? Ha ha. It's a picture of a picture. As many times as I've been around this mount, I don't actually have a photo. The photo was taken for an article in Alabama Game and Fish magazine, that was printed and framed. Next time I visit with my aunt, I'll have to take some actual photos. I didnt have any doubts just noticed them. I didnt mention them in the first post but after y'all talking about it being an old photo I figured I would ask.

If this is the deer i'm thinking about, it grossed over 200, and netted low 180's...But this may be A different deer. The Bailey buck, thats the one I thought it was!

That's a nice one. TC - Winston must have some dang fine genetics. Those woods deer from the NF get huge if they can hide well enough. No ag to speak of.

Jesse Henrys buck was a monster and from the same general area. We called it the golden triangle. Wedgeworth-Akron-Greensboro. being that Henry Co. doesn't/ hasn't produced a lot of huge bucks over the past 20 years, what's the change, other than I'm guess less ag and more trees now then back in the 70's/ early 80's? Just interesting that an area not know for huge deer produced several freaks in a small window of time. and a 300 pound buck is just about unheard of...
