The two mentioned and Jesse Henry's buck (also from Hale Co) are the 3 that I would consider possibly the most incredible to come from this state.
If I recall, Henry's broke the 180 mark as an 8 pt.

He gained all that weight from eating those big giant green leaves!

Jesse Henrys buck was a monster and from the same general area. We called it the golden triangle. Wedgeworth-Akron-Greensboro.

Ha ha. It's a picture of a picture. As many times as I've been around this mount, I don't actually have a photo. The photo was taken for an article in Alabama Game and Fish magazine, that was printed and framed. Next time I visit with my aunt, I'll have to take some actual photos.

I didnt have any doubts just noticed them. I didnt mention them in the first post but after y'all talking about it being an old photo I figured I would ask.

My grandson showed me a picture off of Facebook of a giant buck that a guy found in his pasture, I think it was in Winston County. Just the spine and antlers, but dang what a buck.

That's a nice one. TC - Winston must have some dang fine genetics. Those woods deer from the NF get huge if they can hide well enough. No ag to speak of.

being that Henry Co. doesn't/ hasn't produced a lot of huge bucks over the past 20 years, what's the change, other than I'm guess less ag and more trees now then back in the 70's/ early 80's? Just interesting that an area not know for huge deer produced several freaks in a small window of time. and a 300 pound buck is just about unheard of...

Hale County, not Henry County.
