One I see on here a lot is when people say that new traffic laws or G&F regs. were passed in order to increase revenue. The fact is that very little of a fine goes back to the agency enforcing the law. Very little. It costs that agency a whole lot more to enforce that law than it recoups in fine money. A whole lot more.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

yes, "depression" CAN be a spiritual condition. depression CAN be caused by chemical imbalances. it CAN be caused by traumatic events. and it is very true that you cannot understand it unless you have suffered it, or someone you love suffers from it.
as for outside the "norm?" my faith in Christ Jesus as my Savior, and my evangelical fundamentalist understanding of my faith. such folks are in the minority in this country now. i hazard to say, even in the South ...

I would be curious to see how many even own a BIBLE in the North.

Speed limits. States should just remove the signs if they're not gonna enforce them. When's the last time you saw somebody getting a speeding ticket? Doesn't happen down here.

Halloween. Love seeing the little kiddos dressed up. Once the demons, gore, and skimpy outfits come out - I dont think it honors God.

I'm agnostic. That seems pretty abnormal at least around here.

Hunting related: I don't concern myself with the rut, which is why I have no concern for the February extension. I believe October 15-31 is better than Jan 25-Feb 10. I believe warmer temps are better deer days than bitter cold days (I disagree with people who say "gonna be 15 degrees this weekend, deer gonna move, finally see a rut!!!") Meh, give me 40-80 degrees, and especially give me 40-80 in Oct/Nov! I don't mind the cold whatsoever, I just see more deer in mild temps. I don't think scientifically the temp has anything to do with the rut. I think if you have warm temps in January you have a weird frontal system, THAT'S what's messed up the deer movement, not the temp.
I find that I have multiple opinions regarding kids that are sorta offensive/abrasive. (Disclaimer: I have two daughters [18 and 21] and I will kill you over them, they adore me, we spend tons of time together, we've hunted--although neither of them really loved it that much. I try to take them fishing all the time, but they just want to ride/sunbathe, or be pulled on a tube. I don't hate kids, I just hate society's worship of them)
When I was teaching adult small group at church, I would say that I believe kids are the biggest idol out there, especially for women. Ladies, I'm not your baby's friend on Facebook, I'm YOUR friend. Please make YOU your profile picture. Other people aren't as impressed with your kids as you are, stop being obnoxious and making every-dang-thing about your kids. Your life didn't cease to exist when you had children. It's still okay if you kill a deer too. I don't know why half of every community in the USA nowadays plays baseball 9 months of the year, especially girls. How did half the dads in a community become coaches?...especially ones who didn't play themselves.

Lastly, I think that people are ignorant and gullible when it comes to someone with terminal illnesses or close to death. I have never understood how everyone is a saint or a great person when they are dying or they are dead. No the hell they are not, if they were a piece of shucks, asshole scumbag before they got sick, they are still a piece of shucks, asshole scumbag after they get sick. You could have a person who no one would do anything for in life because they were such a shithead piece of trash, but, let that person get sick and everyone wants to bend over backwards to say how great they are or help them out. I say screw that.
I don't disagree with you. I think a lot of times it has do with the person doing the acts mentioned above. It makes them feel better about themselves or strokes their ego.

These all seem contradictory from what I see as the norm:
Most people are better talkers than listeners. You can learn a whole lot about a person if you just listen to them. Sometimes it's things they don't want you to know or that they don't know about themselves.
A narcissist and an insecure person have several of the same qualities.
A person who is angry and ranting all the time isn't just passionate about their beliefs. They are fearful that their world is beyond their control. What they are passionate about is control.
Most times less is more.
