There is no gravity the earth sucks. There absolutely are no accidents only F'ups. Your freedom ends at my nose. As well as the reverse. There are too many people on the planet and that will be corrected one way or another eventually.

I have one, that as a Christian, makes fellow believers look at me like my head is on backwards. Though I'm against abortion, I disagree with the whole right to life, protest, sanctity of life thing. I hate when churches preach against it. Our country doesn't have an abortion problem. We have a SIN problem. Sin is sin. Man is the one that places a ranking order on sin. I know people that will tell you how wrong abortion is then have an affair on their spouse, be involved in illegal business deals, etc...

Marijuana should be legalized and the government should tax the hell out of it
The only reason it IS illegal is because the government can't figure out HOW to tax it because it's too easy to grow.

Pretty much every opinion that I have is contrary to social norms, based on the politically correct notion that most of society adopts.

I guess this ^^^^^will lead into my 'against social norm', I do not think pot should be legalized. I see and deal with many different types of druggies on a daily basis and most will tell you they got started with pot.

I'm sorry I kinda took the fun out of the thread. It's been 16 years now, but that is a wound that doesn't scab over and heal. It just keeps bleeding every day for the rest of your life. It's not something I talk about and I will probably never mention it here again.
But maybe someone is reading this and going thru depression yourself. I am convinced that my mother could have no more cured herself of depression than she could have cured herself of cancer. She had a disease that completely robbed her of all rational thought.
Several ladies told me after it happened that she had literally saved their lives by being there for them in times of desperation. When her own time like that came, nobody was able to help her. And you can be sure that I have played the "what if" game every day since it happened. There were clues there about what she was thinking, but we were all certain she was incapable of doing such a thing. In her right mind, she wasn't. But she was not in her right mind and managed to hide it from all.
If you or someone you know is showing symptoms of depression, seek help. Thanks for sharing this with us preacher. This is obviously deeply personal for you and a wound that will never really heal.
The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4

They say unless you've ever experienced depression, you'll never understand it. I've never been depressed that I know of. If I don't like something, I change it. Idk what to think about it. I've experienced it first hand, I guess there are different types but mine was kind of an over night thing. No traumatic events just like a switch. The hard part is recognition. At first you just think you feel bad and it will be better tomorrow. Then weeks go by, you have no interest in work, family,or friends. You have thoughts of loved ones dying and also thoughts of ending your own life. You know there is something wrong but hey your a man and you can't talk about it. So you self medicate. Drugs, sex, spending money you don't have, gambling and other risky behaviors that you think might snap you out of the funk but it doesn't work. Then if your actions don't leave you dead or in jail the repercussions pile on guilt and shame that puts you deeper in the hole. If your lucky you have a mother who seems to have a direct line to God and prays for you all the time and one day a few months later it just seems to go away.

Ikill you need a hobby. Have you considered trying fishing? Maybe a string and a can of worms would mellow you out! I love the mental version of "people watching"....I just have some weird fascination with why people do what they do, or think what they think. And I'm always interested in why someone thinks very differently than I do. But I've also worked in sales for 23 years, and sales isn't a factual transaction, it's an emotional transaction----making you feel the same way I do about it. I need to know more than just what you SAY.

I'm agnostic. That seems pretty abnormal at least around here. a= without, gnostic=knowledge. I agree its abnormal to admit to being an ignoramus and something you will rarely find amongst this crowd.

I know people that will tell you how wrong abortion is then have an affair on their spouse, be involved in illegal business deals, etc... See, I'm kinda with you, but I'm not sure if it's the same logic or not (?)... I often say I'm "Libertarian" politically. Not because I'm wholeheartedly familiar with Libertarian policy, but because I see the hypocrisy of authoritarian politics. The right (Republicans) wants to authoritatively impose their ideals on all, and the left the same (Democrats), and both are hypocrites for those reasons (nobody wants to be MADE to do something). So I say I'm socially Libertarian....if you wanna be a transsexual abortionist IN YOUR HOME, have at it. That's not a legal or governmental issue, it's a heart issue, thus only "the church" (Christ) can fix it, not another law. You can make it illegal to do a thing, but folks are daily doing everything that's already illegal. Banning homo marriage won't stop homos, just as an example.

I love how the guy who said dino bones were put there when the earth formed got no response but the guy who admits he doesn't have all the answers is an idiot. Got it.

Got it. lol, I didn't say you were an idiot. You admitted to being ignorant, nothing wrong with that, I am ignorant on a lot of subjects. Now, if you remain ignorant without a sincere attempt at finding the truth then you become worse than an idiot, you become a fool. No offense was intended but when you break down the word agnostic it literally means ignoramus, which technically we all are depending on the subject.
