I've wondered what the comparative costs were now and then, too...although I will say that at least twice in the past month when he was headed back to MaL for the weekend, or whatever, he was shown boarding his private jet, rather than AF One, for the trip.

I am very, very happy that Trump is the President. But I do realize that he isn't a fiscal conservative. But I thought he wasn't taking a salary either so if that is true then I'm not to concerned about his working vacations. Correct me if I'm wrong on the salary part.

No Leroy. The law requires he take a dollar. You are correct Bird, but that's ok. No one wants to complain about her lavish life style on the tax dollar.

Another little fact people don't talk about is that the clintons charge the secret service rent to stay on their property in new york. I believe it was 10,000 a month last I heard. They don't "charge" them. It's a benefit of the position. Same as the bush's (2) in Texas or Carter in Georgia Lifetime secret service protection and I believe lifetime salary of the average senator when you went out

If he goes to Mar-a-lago he is staying at his own place. Kind of like GWB going to Crawford, Texas. Anywhere he or his immediate family goes, or those the SecService believes needs protection, they have to be fully protected with planning, security details, etc. It's not just "going to his place" and hanging out. For instance, there is a 10-mile no fly perimeter around Mar-A-Lago whenever DT is there. That includes shutting down small airports for all flights. The USCG patrols the waters of the Atlantic since MAL is on the shore. That also includes the local law enforcement being on extra hours, and far more other details than anyone knows. Here's one account: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/...m=.014f9f277c45Another: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/...m=.48ed91d5bff6It's just part of the business of protecting the president and his family. But no, he and the family ain't just going home. The same thing applies to anyone, including Bush when he went to Crawford, Obama when they flew to Hawaii or Cape Cod, and so on, and their families. Just going on the $10+ million in the first month - which is underestimated since not all travel-security expenses are available - DT would be on pace to easily and far outspend Obama or any other president for security costs for travel. I'll cut $399,999.99 off that since Trump ain't taking but a $.01 salary.

The clintons charge them rent. Goggle it for yourself. He is the only former president to do so. Another little fact people don't talk about is that the clintons charge the secret service rent to stay on their property in new york. I believe it was 10,000 a month last I heard. Please remember these kinds of details when you hear people rail on the hypocrisy of the Republicans & Democrats.
I think this is what the thread is about. If we hold big ears accountable, shouldn't we also hold Trump accountable? Or do we give him a free pass because he's republican?

No we don't. People forget how much damage that Kenyan Muslim did to this country. It is all about what we need right now. A fiscal conservative, or someone who will right the ship. We need someone who will do the later. After Trump, vote in all the Romney's and McCain's you want. We have deviated from right and wrong, political ideology will not fix it. Common sense is what we need in a bad way.
With politics being a career, a swamp is the obvious consequence

So: It has cost $10 million for Trump to fly to the same place in FL 3 times? 6 flights. Somehow the $10 million number doesn't match up with the numbers below. "And in his first two years, Bush took 148 missions with 416 sorties, compared with 126 missions with 324 sorties for Obama over two years." http://www.factcheck.org/2011/07/the-traveling-president/

You had already made your mind up before you ever came across that link or any other one. I've read enough of your post and others on here to know that y'all are going to cry, whine, and bitch that everything is a bold face lie if it is against the party of your choice. Then y'all are going swear it's the gospel truth if it's anything negative toward the other party. What really gets me the most is when y'all want to call one party out for being hypocrites when in all actuality....You should be calling out yourselves for the same thing. Y'all have a good day and keep on keeping on.....
I had much rather be tried by twelve than carried to my grave by six!!!!

LOL, the whining , bitching and crying is your specialty. You can't accept Trump is a better man that anyone else that ran. Why not admit you wish Obummer had run again?
