How tall is it? Wife and I were just talking about my accident there years ago and she was asking how tall and I have no clue. Didn't break my back but pretty sure I wasn't far from it

I want to say it's 60 feet when lake is full and 80 feet when when water is down but don't quote me on that

I've read several stories of folks getting badly injured jumping off that. One ended up paralyzed. I know it's the "thing to do" but it's just not worth it.

All I know is when you jump it's a heck of a long ways down. I've jumped off 6 or 7 times. And honestly it hurts less with no life jacket. Gotta be sure to hit the water straight.

You're right about that. It looks easy from the water, then you get up there and think wtf have I gotten into.

Yes several have died from jumping off it. Me and my cousin jumped off chicken when she was maybe 12 and I was maybe 10. They wouldn't let us jump off the upper ledge till we were a little older.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Never had any desire to do it. It always looked like the climb up might be as dangerous as jumping. (of course, it's Acapulco Rock that's jumped off of) Chimney Rock ain't no place for jumping.

Jumped off a bunch of times.
We took some girls up to Castaways one night and had a good time then stopped at the rock to jump off at night. The water patrol pulled up as we were jumping in about to climb up and shut it down.
I miss those days...

I've jumped off a few times. My advice is do all your work to get straight early. When you about to hit the water make sure your arms are at your side and you clinch your butt cheeks. I got a lake Martin enema the first time I jumped
