Charles, are you about done with the mounts from 2015-2016 season? I'm getting a little antsy on seeing mine complete

Dadgum. I'd probably find another guy with a quicker turnaround.

Dewhat? That's about 3% of normal life expectancy, 4 or 5% if you die young. Just sayin.

Don't get in a hassle over the wait.

The man is working as hard as he can to get everyone's mounts done.

It will be worth every minute you waited once he gets your mount finished.

Sometimes we have to compromise a little if we want the best.

The best is what you will get with Charles work. thumbup

Quality taxidermy takes time. It is literally watching paint and glue dry.....that kind of time. And if you are good, you are busy. You can get backed up easily.

I wouldn't have gotten on here to ask anyway. I would have called him. I've waited 2 years on some of my mounts. You get what you pay for if you want a quick turnaround pay that 200 dollars and have it in 3 months and it look like shat. Quality work takes awhile because most quality taxidermist take in a lot of animals plus they take their time with your mount and just don't throw something together.

Charles does great work; why don't you just give him a call or PM directly?

Is this is Josh Morrow? didn't we speak on the phone several weeks ago? At any rate it's on the stand now and should be ready here in the next few weeks. It's all good guys but it is aggravating. I have $8500 worth of European mounts and shoulders sitting here ready and folks won't come get them. Between that and all the other bs that comes with doing taxidermy I've about decided that this will be my last season with this business. The mounts I have left from 15-16 and the mounts taken for 16 and 17 will be completed, but I'm hanging up taking commercial work afterwards. I've honestly lost any interest in dealing with the public any longer.

Charles can you not require the full payment up front that way if they don't pick up its on them. You got your payment. And it may weed some people out which sounds like would be a good thing.

ATW, don't let a few bad apples spoil the harvest. 99% of folks here love your work and would be willing to wait for quality. Weed out the hard to deal with and move on. You have an exceptional talent. I hate to see it go away because of a few unhappy internet folks. Nobody has ever complained about your finished product. I think this could be a turning point in your career if you choose to seize it making your business even better.

Charles as long as you will do my mounts I am a customer for life, raise your prices and do fewer mounts! Sounds like a win win to me.

Do this. 100% down payment with a signed agreement. I've seen your work in person
You're too good at that to stop doing mounts. Dealing with the public sucks in most businesses. Just change the business model to fix the problem, but don't give up on it.

Guys, I'm not singling out joshm for asking, he has every right to do so. It just comes down to me being tired. Tired of chasing down my money, tired of working 7 days a week, 8-13 hours a day, tired of not being able to hunt, fish or enjoy life, tired of cost, liability, red tape of having a business. I'm just tired.

Ya I would suggest switching to 75% or 100% down and consider hiring someone even part time.

Looks like it may be time to retire to Mexico? rofl
Just say no and do what you can handle for year or add a partner.
I would think about 3/4 up front with signed agreement and forfeit mount and cash after certain time if not picked. Could work out of back of home as you like too.
