To qualify for the lowest percent your credit would have to be between 750-800. I was in that range but a recent refinance dropped my score a little I guess.

I'd expect with good credit like yours you should be in at least the range I was in hovering at 3% or less if u do fewer months.

Oh and fwiw, those rates work for any amount financed as long as it meets this guideline:

*Maximum amount financed for Used Cars is 130% of NADA Book Value.

I use Redstone Federal Credit Union in Huntsville.

I don't think I would qualify for Redstone Credit Union, I have no connections to the base or North Alabama really.

Most credit unions will take "being a human" to qualify for membership in my experience

Americas first federal credit union usually has very good rates, like most said a credit union will be your best bet

So they pay you for gas based on 25mpg.

At 50k miles/year at 25mpg = 200 gallons of gas

At 50k/year at 20mpg = 250 gallons of gas

At 50k miles/year your chances of being in an accident go up significantly. (I drive that much per year too). My advice would be to find a truck or SUV that would get 20mpg and eat the 50 gallons per year ($100). Not only will you be safer but you get the best of both worlds (hunting, fishing use).

You can get a 2wd 4 door pickup that will get 20-21 mpg. Get one with a rear locker and decent tires and you can go somewhat off-road.

The cost of tires on a truck are significantly more expensive than standard passenger car tires.
A Camry gets in the neighborhood of 35MPG so I will be putting money in my pocket driving that compared to a truck.

With the amount I'll be driving I want a sedan, I am used to driving a car.
Camrys are extremely safe, http://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/vehicle/v/toyota/camry-4-door-sedan/2014

For my off road plan I will be putting a hitch on whatever I end up with and towing an ATV to the hunting land.
Good solution for the short term.

I could afford to have three vehicles but it makes no sense for right now.

Calculate just how much you are going to be putting into your pocket fuel wise. Plus the tire price difference and I think you will still be under $800/year. From a SAFETY STANDPOINT you will be much better off in a bigger vehicle.

Plus I drive a WHITE pickup. I can throw my hard hat on and drive around just about any plant or mill no questions asked. I've been in sales since 2001. You would be shocked at how many times this has helped me.

You might want to do that math again.

For $5,000-10,000 I can get a nice well maintained Camry.
$5-10K would be put me in a beat to hell salvage title work truck with 225,000 miles on it.

The sort of manufacturers I am going in putting on a casual hard hat won't work.

I don't buy into bigger is better for vehicle safety, technology and engineering trump mass.
Trucks and SUVs are significantly more roll prone than sedans

What kind of plants are you going in. I call on anything from paper to steel to general manufacturing to power. You will learn real quick that relying on ONE contact in any account will bite you in the butt. Once I'm onsite I can "wander around" so to speak and meet different individuals.

Automotive plants, suppliers and some aerospace.

I appreciate the insight but I'm going to be partnered with a rep that has 20 years of success.
I don't want to step on toes by wandering, it would be my luck I wander in the Skunkworks section and land in trouble.

I have a very simple goal for this vehicle, make me money while being comfortable, safe and reliable.

If I were driving that much for work I would just go ahead and buy new.

No worries. How does the commission work. You split it with him?
