If I read all the Chinese correctly, the rising dew points thru the day will spawn super cells out of no where. This isn't a typical band of storms moving in that we can track from Mississippi. They are forming on top of us. Still plenty of storms left in the day

We just had a pretty intense but brief storm that came through south tuscaloosa/north Hale. Just as soon as the rain quit, the sun popped right back out.

A while back someone posted a link to a weather forum that was a very interesting read but I'll be damned if I can remember. Anyone know what I'm talking about.

I've never seen so many people disappointed that they didn't get severe/bad storms. laugh

I first read about this storm on Monday. They were predicting then that it would be two rounds. Thus far I'd say they've been dead on. I woke up about 3am in Russell County with the sound of large hail. The radar at that time was purple around the Eufaula area. If earlier forecasts are correct, this 2nd system will essentially be forming over Alabama. It's much different than predicting the path of a system that is already formed.

I trust James Spann's opinion on these matters. He actively promotes the info posted on the weather blog alabamawx.com. Check it out if you want good info.

I'd take a day with the kids over work anytime, even due to storms that didn't show up. Both of ours are out of the house. I miss the days of getting to be with them.

A group of us here have been promoting alabamawx for years. But it seems most people want the social media weather hype amateur discussion or a "reliable" App of some type - and then bash weather forecasting. I don't get it, but that's what the public does.

Yep...sun's trying to come out, here, too, and the temp has jumped back up to 80. Heading up to your neck of the woods in a little while, Skinny...gotta see how much Uncle Sam is going to skin me for, this year.

So when is the next batch of storms coming and where is it coming from? Where is the actual cold front right now?
