A little late on posting this! So for the second time in my life I went turkey hunting in the morning, I've always went midday or afternoons. Idk why, after a long week of work I'm not sure If I have the inspiration to get up before light for a turkey. Either way, I went Sunday morning and heard some gobbles. Nothing close until about 930. A Tom hammers across a creek real close but to thick to see him. Tried to get on him but couldn't as I believe he was with some hens. Anyways, I headed back that evening at 2:30 and started calling, didn't hear anything, so moved to another spot. Called again, finally heard a few hens waaaaay off. So I called a couple more times and waited. After about 10 minutes I hear something moving around. I looked down the hill and it was a Tom. Moving VERY slowly. He took for ever to get into range, and never made one gobble. Finally got him in range and shot. He dropped and when I went over to get home he appeared to only have one leg. Then I found his second leg tucked up under his feathers and it was broke at the joint. No shot holes or anything so idk. He also had beard rot and chipped spurs. They looked they had been brok up. Anyways it was a fun hunt! I'm on my 5th season now and he was my 4th Tom .. all killed in the afternoon or evening!

Congrats! He needed to go; a turkey shouldn't have to live on one leg. Sure glad you got him instead of a coyote.
