And people talk about hunting club drama. Hell I hunted public land for 2 years in Pennsylvania and it wasn't this bad.

0.3 and 3/10 are the same thing. 1760 yards in a mile so 3/10 would be 528. There were plenty of cuss words said. Best I remember, it wasn't the one at my window, but the one with a little longer hair standing farther back from my window in the dark saying them. And no one was walking down the road. I told you I didn't know you were flagging us down. It looked like you were pointing up the road as if to tell us someone was already up that way. You were facing away from the road in the "taking a leak" or "listening for that first gobble" position. It was 4:50 so it couldn't have been listening for a gobble and I don't want strangers lighting me up in headlights when I'm using the bathroom. And someone did say, "when you saw our truck you shoulda turned around and left" to me, that sounds like "this 1.8 mile road is taken if one truck is on it." If you'll check the previous post, I admitted that after looking at it from y'alls perspective, it may have been too close to park, but I had no idea y'all were going out the gated road or where the bird was roosted. All it would have taken was someone to say, "hey, we have a bird roosted 250 yards behind this gate and didn't want to park here" and I would have left no questions asked. I'm not unreasonable and like I said I wouldn't normally park that close to anyone, but with multiple roads going off the main road and no one being at the gate, I had no way to know that was the road y'all planned on hunting. I never heard that turkey gobble. Just saw strut marks and was gonna give it a shot. Glad we didn't mess it up for you.

I'm the long haired boy and I never said a cuss word. I just simply asked why you couldn't stop when I tried to stop you, but you to busy hauling tail and damn near running me over. And I'm still curious why you though parking where the strut marks were was the play, the turkey could've be roosted right there around the gate and pitching down and strutting im the rd right there. And if we had been going off that fire break, it comes around and comes out at that gate across the rd. My point is two ppl parked that close and turkey gobbles we're both going to end up on the same bird.

Gotta love public land. Where was this exactly? Drop a pin. Lol
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Yea they could go frak themselves. I damn sure wouldn't have apologized and after they cussed me would have started shooting skeet at the gate. I was parked at a gate early this season on the forest. I had been sitting there with my son for 20 min or so when a truck pulls in and the guy started getting his gear on. Fumes started rolling out my ears and i got out to talk to him. I let him know i wasnt real happy but he had a point the rd was over 2 miles to the property line. We both new where the birds normaly stayed and he was wanting to go back in there and hunt past me. To save from showing my ass in front of my son we went on with the guy a little ahead of us. We eventually caught up to him and i told him we could listen together and if birds gobbled decide who went where. We talked a while moving and listening but never heard a bird. We eventually left him with it and called it a day. If i had been with one of my normal buddies or by myself i may have showed my ass. Had some guys do this same thing this morning in TN. They weren't gonna say a dang word to me, so I stepped out and asked where they were planning on going. He said "along the river". This is a 5-600 acre block and has about a mile of river frontage. Please tell me what's not along the river. Guess they could tell I wasn't real happy, because his buddy said "look, there's enough room for everybody." Told him I guess we would see when they start gobbling. Fast forward to about 8am. They tried to flag me off as I marched right past their dumbasses on the way to a gobbling bird that they setup 400yds across a field from. I just flicked them off and kept on walking. Unfortunately the bird was in the middle of a pasture on private land and wouldn't do anything. I got their tag number before I left the truck, or I wouldn't have been brave enough to pull that maneuver. I'm still pissed off Would it piss you off more if I told you to get the hell out of one of my honeyholes?

My point is two ppl parked that close and turkey gobbles we're both going to end up on the same bird. You did cuss, but that's not the point and there's no sense denying it. Half the people on this forum cuss and don't care if you did or didn't. No one was in the road and I came no where near running over you. I really wish I had known you were flagging me down. I would have stopped and talked and avoided this whole mess. Like I said, I'm not unreasonable and I don't like hunting close to people. I didn't know you were hunting behind that gate. There is a lot of territory back behind it. Regardless, I meant it when I apologized and that's why I left. I understood after y'all told me what you were doing. The post was more about the idea of a 1.8 mile road with multiple trails and roads off of it being taken by one truck. If that's not what y'all suggested, all 3 of us misunderstood you. I would, however, like to know how far away someone has to be from a gated road before someone can park at the gate and walk out the road to hunt. Again, not trying to be ugly. Really curious how other people make this decision. I'm sure we both love turkey hunting and I know how frustrating it can be when it looks like someone is going to mess you up. I think the whole scenario would've played out differently had you not roosted the bird the night before and had a game plan going in. It stinks feeling confident about your plan an outside factor you didn't expect coming into play. I don't think parking 250 yards from a turkey will keep it from gobbling like was suggested so even if I had roosted the bird the night before I probably would've parked at the gate if for no other reason but to keep other people out of the area.

I'm the long haired boy!!! But my long hair just can't cover up my red neck! And I've won every fight I've ever fought. And I don't need some turkey telling me that I don't know how to park at gates; and saying I worth the danned ol permit that he bought And I can yelp up them private land gobblers. And I still soft talk, all the public birds that I know.....

All it would have taken was someone to say, "hey, we have a bird roosted 250 yards behind this gate and didn't want to park here" You expect a stranger on public land to tell you where they have a bird roosted? Hell I'm probably the worst turkey hunter on this board and even I know better than that.
