It was a good deal. $20 at the gate got you all the food you could eat. They had a rib competition, wing competition and Redneck Hors d'oeuvres. Tons of Crawfish.
Col. Bruce Hampton played later that night and dang if he didn't die ON STAGE two nights later celebrating his 70th birthday with other famous musicians in ATL. Rip Col Bruce.

I was a couple of hundred yards away working on a project in my yard. I enjoyed the music.

Went to Whistle Stop a couple years ago. Probably tried 20 different samples. Only two were worth eating and still not as good as my cooks. Guess the judges get the good stuff.

I took one of the judging classes one time. Well part of it. Non of what they said made any sense to me. I got up and left.

I thought about doing a competition just for fun but never have. I did a brisket yesterday and it turned out pretty good. I prefer to do ribs but wanted a change. Brisket is a lot of work. [img:center]http://[/img] [img:center]http://[/img] [img:center]http://[/img]

Your right brisket is some work and if your not careful you will have a piece of meat not fit to eat. When it's right is great.
