For use in Alabama an outboard with a jack plate. I've seen Cajuns run the correct Outboard setup and run just as shallow as anything would run in Alabama. I have owned them all starting with a 80's Go Devil even had dual Gator Tails.
They are fine for heavy milfoil and lilies but you aren't going to ride through mud like you see on the videos in Louisiana around here.
Some of the boats on Reelfoot with us have an outboard AND a longtail setup on them.
