Slipped down to the dam this morning before work. Caught 25 in an hour and a half. Thing I noticed is they hit like a mule, nearly yank the rod out of your hand, then they surge hard again when they see you're fixing to yank them out of water. Morning was not a total victory. I got tripped up on a rock and went down hard. Got bruise on one knee and on thigh on opposite leg. Came down on a rod and did about $40 worth of damage. I think I shoulda worn hikers instead of tennis shoes. Here's my ouchy:

That's a dang good fishing trip minus the fall.I had hoped to go this weekend but the water may be all the way up to Cooley's store.

I snuck it in. TVA friend called me after lunch. Gville is spilling and likely will be through weekend. Getting ready for Cindy.

Good deal AC. Pound for pound those put up a pretty mean fight. But did you know that the one you are holding in the pic is a White Bass? Very similar to a Striper or a Hybrid but they don't get as big. 3 or 4 lbs is huge for a White Bass. Your fishing on the turbine side I presume. Be careful on those rocks down there. You may be tough, but I'll guarantee you, they are tougher than you are.

They all stripe to me. I kinda know difference. Did catch 1 or 2 little yellow stripers too.
I think I see what you mean. Lines not broken enough to be hybrid, right?

Lots of people call Whites, Hybrids and Stripers all by the same name. Whites usually have a bit of a golden color on their back, and like you said, lines not broken enough for a hybrid, and not enough full length lines for a Striper. Sometimes it's hard to tell. I can't see it but a White Bass only has one tooth patch on the tongue also.

I'm going to go Saturday after the rain moves out. Drifting for cats below the dam again. This time I will not forget my skipjack.
