The 2 feet in the ground is the part that would concern me. I believe that's gonna be too shallow, especially after a good rain softens that fresh dug hole.
BB, on the leftover corn that won't trickle out........ unless you make a funnel for the inside of the drum you'll have left over cord all the way around the inner circumference. You can buy internal plastic feeder funnels for this purpose.....$20 to $40 What concerned wasn't so much the loss of corn, but the corn setting there for a long time, picking up moisture, and growing mold. That was my reason for planning to hang the barrel so that the bottom is at an angle, sloped toward the outlet. I assume that I will still have some left over.

I'll keep y'all updated if any issues arise. It really seem like much of the weight is resting on the 6X6 and cap block. If I put weight on the front of the barrel that's where it gets transferred to.....I've got 150 lbs in it right now to test thing out and it holding it like a champ. A full barrel may be a different story. If it starts to fall over, strap it to a tree.

I think if folks were here to see it in person they would have a different opinion on the sturdiness. I can see how just looking at the pic would give you the impression that’s its heavily pulling against the back post but most of the weight is on the cap block. If you were gonna put one of these up permanently then a bag of quick-crete in the hole would probably insure nothing happened. I may go back and do that myself.

And that is the same reason I posted about the funnel. Any corn left in there will attract moisture and mold pretty quick.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
