Finally got on a hot bull last nite. I did a few cow calls and light bugle and got a chuckle in the bottom of some reprod. After we spotted the bull, my son and I beat feet down a little grassy road and found him a spot to shoot. I would chuckle and the bull would trash a tree and start to chuckle. As soon as he started his chuckle, I'd cut him off with a bugle and trash the alders. We pulled the bull 300+ yards and ran out of light. Hunter had to range bull and point range finder to the sky to read the yardage. He was right at 50yds when we bailed. On the way to the bikes I mentioned that I hope the bull didn't come on the landing and catch my scent. Didn't matter, the bottom dropped out and it rained heavily pretty much soon as I mentioned scent.

Went after same bull this morning. Needless to say it was raining. Long story short, the bull responded the same as last night. We had worked our way through a pretty open clear cut, crossed a huge ravine, and set up on an old skid row. I chuckled, bull chuckled, tore up trees. I did the same. I worked him from 200+ yards while hiding at the edge of the ravine, behind a big bush. I couldn't see anything but Hunter. I knew the bull was close. I heard the bull break and run, saw hunter trying to make a play with no joy. The bull only had to pass 1 bushy spruce for Hunter to get a shot. Instead, the bull stopped between the 2 closely spaced bushy trees and looked right at Hunter. 12yards, smh. It was cool working the bull for him, just wish the bull had taken 3 or 4 more steps toward me.

Are you getting any of that snow? I saw that Oregon was getting a ton of it on the news last night
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be
