She actually appears almost stalled, at the moment, with no real steering influence. I'm not convinced the shortwave is strong enough to dig in and pull her north anytime soon. Yup, and its concerning cause it will give her time to pull in the heat and get bigger. That water just ahead of her is a good bit warmer, and sometimes these things tend to follow the heat if there is nothing else steering them.

Well the last official forecast had a Tropical Storm over Lower Georgia, now it has a Hurricane over lower Georgia but the track has not changed too much. That means they know its going to get stronger but they are not exactly sure where it is going to go when it starts really moving north.

They won't update the track until 11pm. They are only moving the current point of the storm. The "X". It wasn't making any sense to me, and I looked it up.

Yes that is bad news. All of the forecasting models tend to rely on the basic principal that things will stay in motion. I can't recall ever seeing a big storm stop its forward momentum.

Pretty much, yep, especially with the warmer water there in the stream-keys-Florida Bay.

This has just been one crazy ass hurricane since it started.I don't know whether to board my windows up and head north or grab my beer and head south. One thing is for damn sure.Florida is gonna get it bad whether it makes landfall there or not being on the eastside of it.As big as it is there is gonna be tornados spinning up everywhere.I got a feeling it's gonna make landfall in the panhandle probably as a cat 5.It keeps shifting further and further west and now is damn near at a standstill which shows that this cold front that's suppose to steer it back across Fl and up the east coast is not strong enough for it to make a quick turn north.I think it's gonna be a very slow drawn out turn that puts it somewhere around Pensacola making landfall. Then again the sob may head straight to Mexico..I really don't know and I don't think no-one does.Just been so unpredictable so far. Man, I hate it for them over near Tampa, but I dang sure don't want that thing coming this way towards Pensacola!! I've already pretty much decided where I live, I plan to ride out any storm. I'm around 16 miles from the actual coastline, although Blackwater Bay is much closer to me. I figure I'll just put my shutters up and hunker down.

Trox, I was calling for Cape San Blas or just left of Apalachicola. Now that its stalled I dont know, seems like the steering front aint steering sh1t at the moment.

The way it's stalled out, it's almost like she's just stopped to catch her breath before her final assault.

And that bitch is parked on my lease in TN at 2PM Tuesday. We planned to plant next weekend We planted ours today. We had to cancel our yearly tradition of Labor Day weekend because of 4" last week. Bet we get some rain on it this week too, probably bury it 7' deep

Trox, I was calling for Cape San Blas or just left of Apalachicola. Now that its stalled I dont know, seems like the steering front aint steering sh1t at the moment. Yea I agree..I think it's just to powerful for the front that's suppose to push it north to push it now or either that front has weakened substantially and ain't got the ass left to push it where they think.Either way wherever it hits is gonna be catastrophic.I hope like hell by some miracle it takes a hard southern turn or something and dies out before anymore lives are lost and damage done but I know that's unrealistic. Its gonna end up making landfall the next couple days somewhere where the folks wasn't prepared because of the track the weather gurus was confident in it taking all week.My place is still open for any of y'all that need a place a little farther north.
