The Bream and Crappie are tearing it up on the Tensaw.

Is Cliffs Boat Camp on the east side up from spanish fort still in operation? Thats where my bride and I spent our honeymoon about 51 years ago. After a few days we rented a boat and a small motor and went up the river a few miles, past several moth balled ships, and into a slew on the west side. My wife had never fished and I baited her hook and she started pulling them in, one right behind the other. Big ole blue gills. After she had caught a dozen or so I told her she was just gonna have to bait her own hook cause I was gonna fish too. After catching several good bream I hung a bass and he broke my line. I hurriedly put on another hook, baited up and he took it again time it hit the water and the hook came untied. I told her to throw in there while I rigged back up. Yep! You got it. She caught the sob. He put up a heck of a fight on that bream pole and after about 5 minutes of squeeling, hollering and jumping around she got the 2 pounder in the boat. We Haven't been back but think about the place every time we cross the swamp on I-65.

Sorry I haven't answered sooner but I've been on the river all weekend.
Like one of you said pretty much every where is on fire right now. I've been fishing out of Hubbards Landing north of stockton. I don't bass fish but have talked with folks that do and they are tearing it up too. I did catch a few small bass on some crickets though.
I went this past tuesday, wednesday and saturday and today and I have cleaned more bream than I ever cared to.
One lady sat on the dock at Hubbards and caught 76 crappie saturday.
I have talked with others and they are catching them also and it is pretty much every where right now.
All those males are making the beds and the full moon the last of the month the ladies will be laying those eggs........

And oh yeah!........Cliff's is still in operation and it is owned by the state as a public lauch. I do not fish at all down that way though. River to wide and rough down that way for me.
