If Pitino's not fired at Louisville within 24-48 hours I'll be shocked. Probably the AD there, too.

Likewise, even though he's not named, with Bruce Pearl's previous problems at Illinois and Tennessee and everything going on at Auburn, it wouldn't surprise me if he and Jacobs are gone soon. Getting rid of coaches and ADs, even if it costs money, is one way schools show they're "being proactive" to the NCAA or feds or whomever.

So that means, possibly, that with basketball season starting literally just weeks from now they'd be looking for coaches. Likely an interim thing, sort of like how the guy coached the Baylor football team in 2016 for one season after Briles was fired.

So who would do that? A small college guy looking to step up, which leaves his team in the lurch on short notice? Someone retired or out of the game who could step in quickly?

Lot of ramifications with all this mess.
