I have hunted for many years now, but never have I seen the elusive Alabama panther. Many that I know claim to have seen one at some point. I was wondering if any of yall have seen one, and where in the state it was located...

For the purposes of this thread, I'm talking about all big wild cats bigger than a bobcat, that would include cougars, panthers, etc...

I've seen a mountain lion cross the road on tva in muscle shoals. Seen one from 30 yards in wayne county TN. Now weather they were pets that got released or wild I wouldn't know. Now, I'll take some of that popcorn.

Never seen one in Alabama, but saw one in Lawrence Co, TN years ago. He (or others) was seen multiple times over the 4-5 years that we hunted up there, but either at night or during bow season.

I'll take some of that popcorn too...

Be careful, the Alabama Cougar (wildus skankus catus) is known to carry many different diseases that spread to humans. Proceed with caution when you encounter one of these beasts grin

Disease probably wouldn't be the first thing that would cross my mind if I saw a cougar in the wild....

That one sailed right over his head and still going.

I detect some sarcasm, but just in case some may not know. The Texas cougar and Florida panther are basically the same animal. You have to compare thier DNA to tell the difference between the two. And yes I am one of those who has seen a female panther/cougar in Florida that had two little one with her about 1/2 her size. They crossed in the road about 30 yards in front of me heading into a swamp about 15 years ago. There was one killed on the interstate a few years before that siting as well. And no it wasn't a black panther grin
