Leopold makes a range finder that's on the bow if that makes it any easier for you. It's called the vendetta.

It may come as a shock to some people but people have been killing deer a long time without a range finder

I have a couple old Keller's pendulums somewhere. Shot them for years.

Been using one for 20yrs also. First a Keller then a Predator. Some say they’re only good out to 20-30yrds but I’ve killed deer out to 40yrds.

I used a predator pendulum for more than 20 years before I finally had to surrender to the crossbow.
Once I got the pendulum dialed in I never paid attention to range anymore. From 10 to 30 feet high, from 20 to 45 yards, made no difference at all. I probably killed, hell I don't even know how many deer I killed with that old pendulum. A LOT!

RCH, they have a Predator good out to 45 or more now. I never shot that far tho.

Or get a good pendulum and don't worry about it

I used to use a Keller pendulum sight, years ago. Once bows got faster, I really didn't see the need. If you have a fast bow, the first pin should be good to 30 yards. I use a 3 pin sight,20,30,40 yard. The first 2 are very close together. My bow is not all that fast, it's about 12 years old. Range spots in the woods before the deer show up, that way your not trying to range the deer. Once the deer show up, your concentration should be about making a good shot, not yardage.

I had a Keller about 20 years ago. Sounded like you were whacking a tree with a metal bucket half full of bolts when you shot. Me and that piece of junk never got along.
