The point of the BCS is to make every game meaningful. Actually, the point of the BCS is to pit the two best teams in the nation against one another in the BCSNC game. Putting LSU and Alabama in the game would do just that. There is nothing that says that either of the teams has to win its conference, or even its division.

Who cares what happened in 2004...Bama is going to play for the BCSNC whether yall like it or not. True. It doesn't matter though. Bama still doesn't have a kicker.

Hunterbuck's right. The point is to put the two best teams - based on the system everyone has agreed upon using - in the BCSCG.
LSU was the better team that day in BDS. Otherwise, they would have lost. That's pretty simple. Even objective fans of any team understand that. If Alabama had been better, it would have won. Shoulda, woulda, coulda is all BS and excuses. Final score is the bottom line.
Maybe they'll get another shot. Maybe not. We'll find out in another week or so.

Bama should not get another chance.
Where should I start?
-They had their chance and lost on their own field.
-They didn't win their division.
-They didn't win their conference.
Auburn did all 3 in 2004 and didn't get a shot. Allowing a team a rematch makes the regular season meaningless. The point of the BCS is to make every game meaningful. One of the most common complaint I hear about a playoff is that once teams secure their spot the last couple of games would be meaningless. In order for the BCS to remain the standard they must not allow Bama a rematch. It is the only honorable thing to do. It really does bother you that badly....LOL! Well Reb then who would you put ahead of Bama to play LSU in the BCSNC game?

The mass media, especially the left coast media, is against a rematch...just read this headline from the LATimes http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-1127-dufresne-college-football-20111127,0,3603367.column

Dufresne has covered West Coast athletics about as long as Forde, and both are good.
All part of the process that's accepted by the university presidents and BCS machination system ... voting, computers, data, etc.
Houston is 2011's version of 1984 BYU.

Really there's no case to make.......Both these teams have beaten everybody else they've played to a pulp, and they played each other to a tie at the end of regulation. Alabama came up on the short end that night but it would be the same situation if Alabama had won. You could throw teams 3-10 in a sack and shake them out in whatever order you wanted to, but there's no doubt who the best two teams are. Ditto.

The Sunday rankings should be LSU and Bama atop the polls again.
Legit question: Could Auburn's poor BCS ranking and schedule, Just to point out, ALL 5 of Auburn's losses came to teams ranked in the top 17. So actually, if you are basing this off of the BCS Bama played a weaker schedule than Auburn. But without a doubt, LSU played the toughest schedule.
Turkeys be damned.

I say if they do play and Bama wins, we get to go again for the best two out of three!! No there is only 1 championshi and game and 1 winner. AL and LSU got there based un a system everyone agreed on.
