Based on the solunar charts and the moon being nearly full, I’ve convinced myself that I need to be in a stand at midday. Since it’s so warm and I just don’t have it in me to pull an all day sit, I’m going to take a nap in the truck and head in about 10 and hunt til 4 on the south ridge. Emmett is taking the day off because his daughter is coming to visit, so I won’t have to listen to him telling me I’m full of chit.

I’ve been hunting food plots in the mornings the past few days because I’ve been bumping deer at our stands in the hardwoods going in before daylight and haven’t been seeing squat. The wind will be absolutely perfect for the south ridge midday. So I’m going to go with my gut. Taking tomorrow off and hitting it hard again Sunday.

If we get a good thunderstorm around lunch would be good time to stalk. In those hardwoods if it is on side with wind or top of ridge those deer may be bedding down in the food and staying cool.

Going to see if these fish want to bite before work this morning. Meeting Southwood here in about 10 minutes. I have his snoopy rod and a loaf of bread. Hopefully that will keep him entertained while I fish.

I will be going out for my 4th sit of the year today, will be in stand from 10am until dark. Had 7-9 deer bedded in this area Wednesday.

Went to the gym instead of the woods this morning seen a couple of hot does! I’ll give up a day in the stand with temps in the 70s, rain, and a full moon.

I’m 36’ up a hardwood today. In the same place I killed the 8 pt last year. Stormed earlier, so I didn’t get in tree until 1000. Had a barely legal 8 pt follow my path in (I had sprayed doe estrous on boot). Hope they keep moving.

I sat 30 mins before sunrise until 12:30 on corps land. Figured they would move around 10 but didn’t see nothing but skwerls.
