No Troy, you never heard the expression a dollar two ninety eight meaning I would not pay to kill a big buck

I would pay a lot to kill a free range NET B and C. Other than that, I'll stick to my hillbilly bucks.

I wish I could join a club or lease in NE AL with that qualifications. No shootee 140, no payee.

If it is on my own place where I did all of the work, scouted, hunted, managed the land, etc., a hell of a lot. If it is going to somebody else's place where they have set everything up and all I had to do was go and sit and pull the trigger, no thanks. There is more to this thing we call hunting that pulling a trigger just to pat ourselves on the back and say yeah I shot that 140,000 inch megamonster GIIIIAAAAANNNNT Hawgdaddy, freaknasty deer, ain't I great! If that is all your looking for you might want to find another hobby, or take it back a few notches like BhamFred to make hunting challenging again.

Not a dime. I can do that on my own without paying anything but the lease. I agree with Matt. I'll put in the time and effort on my own.....will not pay someone a "trophy fee".
Take your kids hunting today....one day, they will be taking you.

bigbuck101 thats a nice one but i bet you seldom kill deer of that size in the national forest in alabama. Mattbrock, barntoo if you do it regular on a lease in alabama let me know your secret. I guided for 4 years at the best place to hunt in alabama with great genetics and 10,000 acres and it was still hard to get on 120s. You know something the rest of us don't know.

Matt, the "limit pressure - hunt smart" idea is the least recognized idea for Alabama hunters. They just have to hunt, when they can, no matter weather condition or wind direction. However, I do understand why it can't be accomplished by most guys. I work so much now, I fall into the trap sometimes myslef. You can only hunt when your not working, or the countless other things going on in life. I catch most of your posts, and it seems you are still at a point in life to hunt when you want - when it's "right", not just when you can. Enjoy it, I had that luxury at one point in life also.

Well, actually, you have it wrong....lol. I live 250 miles from my hunting area, and I get to hunt very little truth be known. I hunt weekends, and holidays, just like most other hardworking people. I hunt when I can too, but if the "when I can" times are not right I choose to do something else.

Matt i hunt when conditions are right play the wind, temps everything. I let deer walk don't shoot young ones. Still its very hard to consistently kill 130-140 inch deer in alabama. I have killed 4 130-148 also in alabama, a 190 in missouri, 2 170s in ohio, and several more from 150-160. My point being guys here don't see 120 plus inch deer very often trying to see what a hunt for a 140 inch deer is worth.

I agree with you. It isn't easy, and doesn't happen very often. A lot of AL properties don't even consistently produce 130-140" deer. You can't kill what you don't have.
I have been blessed with some fine AL deer over the years. All I can do is keep hunting and hoping it will continue.
I do know that I wouldn't pay money, even for a guaranteed hunt, anywhere for a 140" deer.
