A Bible thumping Christian showing loose morals? Surely not. We’ve never heard of such.
This just confirms my skepticism about those that tend to preach from the highest perches and at the loudest volume. A godly man doesn’t have to tell anyone how godly he is. A scumbag on the other hand often tries to be the wolf in sheep’s clothing.

If so, why? Besides, an accusation is just that.

I just read two articles on this made up fairy tale on Moore,, what a well written story/lie ,, they must have hired a script writer to do it ain't no way Moore just happened by and started a outside the courthouse on a bench romance with a 14 year old ,,with her mother sitting right there beside her.
The other women making accusations are just icing on the cake for this fabricated lie,,,I ain't buying into it,,,, the demoncrats and rinos are sweating bullets,, they'll stop at nothing to keep Moore out of that seat,, they know he's going to win we haven't even voted yet and that's why the lies are pouring out. I wonder how much the women are being paid to try and destroy a good mans reputation.

I keep hearing that everyone in Etowah County knew about these allegations. How in the hell does it go 40 years and Roy Moore being the moronic lightning (h/t Clem) rod that he is and this is just now showing up? This guy has been walking around in a political electrical storm waving a one iron and not one peep the whole time.
Anthony Weiner is caught sexting minors and they still back him and he gets re-elected and his wifes boss runs for POTUS and it barely scratches the surface.
I do NOT like Roy Moore but this sounds like some bullsh!t. Maybe it comes out as true but it doesn't pass the sniff test for me.

I’m not accepting anything as fact, just saying I wouldn’t be shocked in the least. A lot of you seem to be skeptical due to the timing of this story, which might be more than a tad bit ironic, but with all the recent Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey stories coming out, I’m not shocked at all. I think it’s safe to say that women see other women speak up and they feel emboldened by it. Lastly, a general acquaintance of mine that lives near Roy in Gallant has said what a douchebag he is, so there’s that. Everything impression that I’ve ever gotten from Roy, from his Bible thumping, to the lengthy arrest record of his son, to my friend’s opinion, to this, all suggest to me that my gut feeling about him was right. I would find this story easy to believe, even if the timing was suspect.

I'm skeptical as well, although that's just my nature. I'm skeptical when told we'll eat supper at 5:30 at the in-laws' house because I know it'll be closer to 6.
As for timing, the Post has been here doing legwork on Moore in case he wins. That's common, especially for a high profile guy like him. Moore's incredibly high profile and known throughout the country, in some aspect, by many. So doing legwork for a larger profile in case he wins a Senate seat is routine.
During that reporting process in any story like that, good journalists will talk with A LOT of people about the subject. Similar to a Sports Illustrated story, for example, where they go to someone's hometown to talk at the coffee shops and gas stations and Shop 'n Stab. In these cases -- for profiles, long features, etc. -- it's common to ask about everything - childhood stories, high school and college, mowing yards for quarters to help Aunt Edna get a new wooden leg, and so forth.
And during that process, people tell stories. Good, mind-blowing, lurid, the rumors and chatter that no one discussed openly for whatever reasons: fear of retribution -- y'all don't think Moore as a judge had a grip there in the county? Some of those folks probably were scared chitless and still may be -- along with whatever other reasons, like no one would believe them or "it happened just once and I was tipsy" or whatever.
And thus these kinds of stories sometimes come out. Not surprised that Moore immediately invoked the "fake news" and "Dems coming to get me" angle. That's par for the course. He may win next week anyway, possibly will, despite all this.
So I have on my Red Flag Skeptic Hat until something else, if anything, comes out.
But I believe this: multiple people don't make up detailed stuff like this. It's slanderous and libelous. If these stories truly are "fake news" and lies, then Moore should be filing bazillon-dollar lawsuits today against these women and the Post.
But that would possibly mean depositions and court appearances and such. So we'll see where the story goes now.

Pfft. I'm no Moore fan, but this smells of political BS.
The source, the timing.. The man may be a grand stander but he's thus far proved morally sound.
It's starting to look like every man in America is going to have an allegation against him by someone. Every person you've asked out on a date will now be able to accuse you of sexual harassment. Thats my take also. IF, any of it has any credit ability to it, it should have been brought up yearssssssss ago. Not now to sway vote towards Jones. Jones wouldnt get my vote if he was the only person on the ballot.

Surprise, surprise, John McCain said he should drop out of the race regardless of whether or not the claim was true. MCCain never ceases to show his true Democrat colors.

Then Moore should be suing everyone. Maybe he will. Time will tell.
