I'm with you Fred, I bet there's several that could light this thread up like a pin ball machine with 140s and better. Nice recurve kill. Did the B'ham deer show experts score that one for you? I'm pretty sure none of that posted pics were trying to BRAG about what we killed. I posted an even 140 in response to neutral88s horsechit post. I killed that deer a long time ago with my recurve.

you just know that deer, nor any others of mine or the wifes, will ever see the inside of the Bham deer show.

bigbuck101 thats a nice one but i bet you seldom kill deer of that size in the national forest in alabama. Mattbrock, barntoo if you do it regular on a lease in alabama let me know your secret. I guided for 4 years at the best place to hunt in alabama with great genetics and 10,000 acres and it was still hard to get on 120s. You know something the rest of us don't know. Maybe I should have been clearer with my original statement. I choose to pay for a lease here in Alabama and this piece of property has the potential for 140" or better deer. No secrets about that and no, I don't claim to know more than the next guy. I am satisfied knowing I have the opportunity to hunt deer here in state on property I've helped manage.
Take your kids hunting today....one day, they will be taking you.

I spend a pretty penny on deer hunting every year to have an opportunity at a 140" deer or better. I hunt multiple states including Alabama. I passed the stage of killing little deer many years ago. I killed so many deer when I was younger to the point I ain't mad at them no more. As I have gotten older I personally enjoy hunting and managing for big mature deer. The kill is the icing on the cake when it happens. The challenge of managing a peice of property to produce the best animals it can is the fun part to me. I enjoy all the work involved to have the opurtunity at a 140" deer. By the way, a 140" deer ain't a slouch by any means. I have been lucky enough to kill some bucks that most would consider big. The measuring tape don't lie when they are measured correctly. It takes a good bit of bone to get to 140".
I am going to post every buck I kill on this site along with the story of the hunt. If it's taken as bragging so be it. I am proud of my kills and the work I put into making it happen, so yeah I am showing off a little. I can promise that the time and sweat was put forth by me personally to be sucessful. I will say this in closing I spend more on a quality Bama lease than I do in any other state. I have yet to kill a 140" buck in this state. I know they are here but they are hard to see in day light hours on some of the best properties this state has to offer.

Squeaky, well said. Growing them is the fun part. Out smarting them is the hard part. If done right, there is no easy part. I 've got several under 140 that mean more to me than some I've got over 140. You gotta love it!

I am going to post every buck I kill on this site along with the story of the hunt. If it's taken as bragging so be it. I am proud of my kills and the work I put into making it happen, FWIW (which ain't much ), I personally don't take your posts about your kills as bragging WHATSOEVER man. Sharing successes with your pals at the time of the kill is part of the fun of this thing. Lurking for opportunities, even baiting an unsuspecting member who hasn't been here very long into an argument so the opportunity will magically present itself for you to throw the scores of your bucks from previous years out there for the world to see and understand what a Daniel Boone II you are and to stroke your own ego is totally different....at least it is to me. Not that anybody necessarily did that in this post (read through it VERY quickly yesterday when I posted what I posted and couldn't even remember who said what at that time), but it has happened a ton in the past on these kinds of posts. I just personally think it's pathetic, but like I said....my opinion don't mean much. Heck, the only reason I get in that deer contest is to talk smack (all in good fun!) back and forth with my pals that I've made on here. The fact that it is based upon number of points only and not score, don't amount to anything but quasi bragging rights if you do win, etc. are the only reasons I get in it. If it ever goes to a B&C scoring system or similar in the contest, there are ever any prizes added, etc.....I'll never get in it again because that would be a sure fire way to surface some real Richard Craniums.

Jughead I understand what you are saying man. My comment was not directed at anyone in particular. I can see where you thought it might be directed at you. My apologies for that.
