There are a lot of professional hunters who hunt in high fences all the time. But, I don't think Will Primos is one of them. I would be really surprised if this was not free range.

Somebody at work just told me the Delta land is heavily protected. Meaning, if I own the land, only I can hunt there. Not sure about that but it must be something else!

I have a buddy thats a big farmer in Yazoo City. His father and Will are buddies and my buddy said that it was killed free range in Belzoni, Ms. I am not saying that its 100% but I believe my source is fairly reliable.

3 toe , was Dax deer killed in a high fence? It was a b&c deer so they don't exist outside fences in the south?

Have you looked at bucktrails trail cam pics? All free range and many deer that Pike Co Illinois hunters would be ecstatic to kill.

No deer that size is common ANYWHERE in the world but they do exist free range even in certain areas of the south.

All I said was it was hard for me to believe that deer was killed free range. Yes, I know deer that big do exist free range but around the South woods they can be about as common as black painters. If they were plentiful, we wouldn't need antler restrictions, buck limits, and there would be a new picture in the paper of a record deer every Sunday. No, I don't know Dax but I hear he killed a big deer free range.

All I said was I wanted to know where it was killed, with certainty, and I would believe it.

Here are red flags, to me anyway.

1) It is a huge deer, with obviously a huge rack of mass and tines. Most deer free range in the south have a hard time getting past a 4 point, but ok. Someone said Will owns the land. Ok, but can't a deer still range for several miles where he could possibly be shot as a young buck off of said property?
2) It's shot by a tv personality and will be shown on a hunting dvd which will be for sale. Business is business.
3) The tv personality uses and blows a "BuckRoar" call with the deer in sight, something that sounds like a upset stomach after 5 bowls of chili. A call that almost everyone on here has made fun of. Said buck comes immediately to this call. He didn't get that big by being stupid. Something doesn't see right here. Maybe he hears this call when the sweet oats are brought out? More sarcasm.
4) People have asked on his FB page where the deer was shot. No answer yet, or at least as of a day or so ago.
**

I am not attacking Will Primos. Never met the man personally but I am sure he is of the highest moral character. All I was saying is that I had a hard time believing THAT SPECIFIC deer was shot free range and wanted to know where and what property it was taken. Still haven't heard.

I know several of the properties they hunt in MS and NONE of them are fenced....just saying.

Bucks of this caliber are killed on PUBLIC land in MS every year 3-toe.....just saying that too. Chew on it.

Alot of the land in MS, especially in the delta dna batture lands along the river, is tied up by a few folks with little access by outsiders. They want it that way. Most of th south has no idea what comes from there because they don't want us to.

you have any dealings with those high dollar clubs inside the levees? a buddy's grandad used to manage a place years ago, while he was alive Rob and his Dad were allowed to hunt occasionally, his Dad had a wall full of 160's and up

IL, Iowa and other midwestern state's soil ends up in the delta

Matt, I understand what you are saying and know what you are saying is correct.

But, here is what I am saying. My grandaddy told me some good advice a long time ago. Don't believe anything you read and only half of what you see. Wait on the facts. Chew on it.

Carter, yes I have been to a few of them. I have seen the caliber deer that come off the river, and I've had the pleasure of scoring a few. I've watched some video and seen pics of some incredible deer that haven't been killed yet.

One property I visited requires all 10-points killed to be 160+ gross B&C. That is the MINIMUM.

There are some world class deer over there.

3toe, I'd bet that Will has already been trying to get a hold of you to tell you the full facts regarding that buck and the kill. Prolly upset that he can't get a hold of you.....

I'm in the book in case he needs to call. Don't you have some rocks to knap or is this thread that interesting to you?
