Athlete, yes. Qb thats a big negative. Just wait and see when draft time comes around in 2 years. He ain't no qb Tim Tebow couldn’t cut it in the nfl either You don’t have to be a good nfl qb to be a good college qb Tim Tebow won championships...Jalen hasn't Tim Tebow didn't win one as QB until his 3rd year. He was also a significant contributor his freshman year; scoring 2 td's in the Championship game vs OSU

Idk but he seems to me that he needs to get a little more fire. If we messed up,our qb would light a fire under our ass and our coaches would be worse. Of course that's been many, many years ago.. Y’all also won 5 and lost 5 and didn’t make the playoffs. So which way works better?

According to ESPN 2017 passing stats. Throwing out all the RBs and WRs that threw and completed one pass and only looking at QBs that passed over 50 times. Tua is ranked second behind Baker Mayfield nationally in passing efficiency. Jalen is somewhere around 30th. Jalen is 74th in total passing yards, 56th in passing TDs and probably around 60th in completion percentage. I say probably around 60th because you have to weed through the garbage of Rb's and WRs that have thrown 2 or 3 passes and completed them all, and QBs that only played one game etc.. This is not to say that Tua should be starting over Jalen because Jalen's athleticism and running ability also has to be factored in. It simply states that Tua is the better passer statistically.
The thing that really jumped out at me while looking this up was that while Jalen has thrown for 2005 yds this season, AL simply is not passing the ball as much this year as in 2010-2016. Jalen has only thrown 224 times in 2017 while he threw 382 times in 2016 as a freshman. Part of this is because of the additional playoff games yet to come but he's still way behind on attempts even factoring that in. Sims and Coker and McCarron were all 3000 yd plus passers and all threw it right around 400 times in each of the three years before that. Is this an indication of an offensive shift, an indication of not trusting Jalen to throw it, or and indication that on a large number of called passing plays, Jalen looks at his first WR and then tucks it and runs rather than standing in and throwing it to other WRs like the other QBs have done in the past? I honestly don't know the answer but it is thought provoking. It also explains why other teams are stacking the box to stop the run and daring AL to pass the ball. Each year, AL has over 3000 yds rushing but this year we are not nearly as balanced as we've been in the past 6 years in rushing yards vs passing yards.

When you say you have to weed through the crap like RB’s throwing and stuff, you really have to include Tua in that as well. He has only threw after the game was in hand, Defenses were worn out and then he hasn’t thrown as much. His day will come... As for Bama’s offense, keep in mind the OC is still adjusting to college game, he hasn’t coached college in 17 years. The pro and college game are two different games. All things said, you cant argue with Bama’s success this year.

What's Bama's offensive identity? Are we good at running? Are we a physical run team? Are we a slow, methodical offense that can keep the chains moving or are we a big play offense? Or are we a big-play kind of offense? Maybe our identity is that we have a QB who can get rushing yards when a play breaks down, but what about when the play goes smoothly?
Yall can bash me for questioning Saban/Hurts but what I see is a team that has the #1 recruiting class every year, has an amazing defense even with the injuries, but we have an offense that can't convert a 3rd down when they need to. The receivers either stink at getting open or the QB isn't seeing them. Our #1 Rb has 8.2 yards/carry for the SEASON but gets 6 carries in the Iron Bowl.
If Saban doesn't win the championship this year, that would mean we've had 1 in the last 5 years even though we've had the #1 recruiting class every season. I just want to see us quit playing scared on offense and let's open it up. We've got the talent to do it...

Idk but he seems to me that he needs to get a little more fire. If we messed up,our qb would light a fire under our ass and our coaches would be worse. Of course that's been many, many years ago.. I like his calmness Look at Baker Mayfield...as much as I hate him, when he gets fired up, he straight up balls...I honestly think he is too calm. Look at aj when he went off on the oline, they would turn into monsters after...need someone to get fired up yet stay level headed when not playing well To answer your question...No I don't think we will...He's had to win two games and hasn't showed me yet that he can cause he lost both. He did not lose Clemson last year; he put up what should have been the winning TD. Yes and no. You can't expect a defense to stop a 2 minute drill against an offense and QB of that caliber when they have been on the field for 100 plays in the game. Much of their fatigue can be attributed to his decision making throughout the game, leading to too many 3 and outs. I ain't saying it is all his fault or that I want Alabama to change a thing personnel wise for the rest of this season, but they have got to find a way to keep the defense off of the field during some 6 and 7 minute drives like the days of old.

We’ve been saying this since last year. Before the loss to Clemson. Many chalked it up to being young. But he hasn’t gotten any better.
