I know this is in the name of progress but we're running out of farmland at a rapid pace in N bama. And If the toyota plant lands in greenbrier which is likely it will at this point you can stick a fork in farmers between Decatur and HSV http://www.al.com/business/index.ssf/201...obileshort_home

I bet the farmer made a killing. Actually no. The farmer who was renting it had invested in pivots a few years back and just lost the lease. The landowners quit farming this land over 10 years ago so no. The farmer did not make a killing.

How much land do they need for a plant? This is not Toyota plant. This will be faggoty shops and shucks. The Toyota plant will be on 1800 acres west of this north of 565

Not sure what is gonna happen when progress causes us not to be able to feed ourselves. Won't happen. How much farm land has been put into CRP pine? Plenty of farm land out there that is easy to work.

The landowners quit farming this land over 10 years ago so no. The farmer did not make a killing. I was referring to the landowner. Yeah if the guy farming it doesn't own it, then he's out of luck.

I hate that the farmland is being lost and really hate how much worse traffic is going to be through there was once more stuff gets built. I try to avoid that whole stretch of 72 from County Line Road to the Parkway as much as possible.

I hate to see it go.... but everywhere we shop now used to be just like this. Whether it's 280 in Birmingham, or Walmart in Clanton. Really had to see this one coming.... According to those pics, the suburbs are all around and it's across the street from a Target. no surprise here. I do hate to see it though.

I've been farming and building all my life. But, sucking all the farm land up, and I see it every day, pisses me off. Where the hell are all these people coming from..............
