I was livid when I read one of the headlines, " Red State turns Blue" that's a wad of frog spit.
I keep hearing things like:
"This is a HISTORICAL MOMENT for Alabama!"
"It's been YEARS since a Democrat was elected, ALL THE WAY BACK to 1992!"
"THIS HASN'T HAPPENED IN 25 YEARS! HISTORICAL!"
Heflin was the last Dem elected, alllllll the way back back back in 1992. Wow. SO LONG AGO!
Yes, I get that we've had multiple presidents and Midterm elections since then. The GOP began flipping things in the late 1980s and then '90s until now. So it's a big deal politically with this election.
But it's only been 25 years. Not 50. Not 100.
