I just got a new bow for father's day and need to get it set up and tuned. Does any one have a recommendation for a good pro shop? I don't mind paying more for my eqipment, just so long as they are knowledgeable and are not jerks. I live in the MCcalla area, but am willing to drive a couple hours to get good service. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Isn't Mcalla over by Bessemer? If so the best man you can go see is in Fosters (9 miles west of Tuscaloosa). About an hour from Bessemer.

Sonny, aka-Shaw on here, is a top notch bow man. If he's not too busy right now getting ready for the buckmasters tournament.

I drive 2 1/2 hrs to see him.

There is a shop in Jasper that several people rave about. I think its called Pat's Archery.

I live in Chelsea and use a guy in Wilsonville. the shop is Kustom Archery on hwy 25. He does a pretty good job and has an indoor range to paper tune your bow. The only kicker is that he opens at like 9 or 10 am and closes at like 5pm so if you work a 9-5 job its tough to get there. thumbsup

Sonny is an outstanding bow mechanic. Might as well get a set of cables and strings made while you are there. If he can't get to it Ricky Pearson in Gordo at One Shot Archery is also very good and makes great strings and cables.

Shaw's name came up as a recommendation a few times, so I sent a PM. BTW Do any of you have the contact info for One Shot Archery in Gordo? I do not have a phone book with their listing. Thanks again for all the help.

Another vote for Pat's Archery in Jasper. Paul is a top notch bow tech.
