Sitting here watching the news, and don't know all the details, but evidently the police have beat the tar out of a democrate. Of course the media or at least the one I saw is all up in arms already. May be to cold for protest at this point.

seen that the other day. They skint him up thats for sure. It's messed up the police did that, but he could have avoided all that by cooperating, still dont give them the right to skin up a 17 year old like that though. If it was my kid, I'd get justice too.

I would want to see the video before I judged it so quickly to as he did, or didnt need it.

If that was my kid he'd be more worried about me beating his ass for running from the cops in the first place after they done had their turn with him. My son would probably still be sitting in jail scared to call home.

It would not have happened if he had followed commands. He's lucky they didn't shot his azz! Reaching into your waistband is asking for it. These people just don't understand, they are animals. this isn't a racial issue, it's a stupidity issue. I've been stopped but never been beaten because I never pose a threat. Police are under fire from all directions.

“Officers were able to apprehend the suspect on Madison Street, but he resisted arrest and refused to comply with commands from the officers to place his hands behind his back,” Barr said.

“The subject continued to struggle with officers and kept reaching toward his waistband as if he was attempting to access a weapon, all while repeatedly ignoring officers’ commands to stop resisting and give them his hands.”

It was then that Barr says officers resorted to physical force.

The teen was taken to Troy Regional Medical Center and then to University of Alabama Birmingham. He has since been released.

Barr said officers retraced the path taken during the pursuit and found a handgun lying on the ground, which has now been taken in as evidence.

If you resist arrest, and look like you're attempting to grab something out of your waste band, you're going to get the chit beat out of you.

why didnt they taze him? Its pretty effective. They can hit you, but its supposed to be open handed. I heard this kids orbital socket was busted up. Seems a little harsh to me, But like i said. The kid could have avoided this by complying.

depends on the situation hard to aim and run at the same time then if he had a few cops trying to restrain him would be hard to get a clear shot

Have you seen the video? The kid lived, and so did the cops. Seems like a win to me.

The kneel down crowd and those that will be marching tomorrow believe they have a right to run from the law and not suffer any ramifications from it. They must not ever watch Live PD. grin

I'm withholding judgment until I see the video. 99% of these have been s### storms of epic proportions for what has turned out to be justified uses of force. I wouldn't bet a years salary this will be the same case but I would be tempted.

Poor kid. He just needed a job and a better educational experience." He could've been Obama's son." I'm sure he was just visiting the backs of those closed stores at midnight carrying a pistol in hopes that one would be open so that he could get an employment application and apply to work there.

If it is right the people who passed that law need a kick in the nads for being so stupid.

A cop is getting pounded and hes supposed to bitch slap a 6'4 250# democrat off him? geesh

I don't know for certain but doubt it would be law. It would be something like code of conduct or procedure manual for that agency/state.
