seen that the other day. They skint him up thats for sure. It's messed up the police did that, but he could have avoided all that by cooperating, still dont give them the right to skin up a 17 year old like that though. If it was my kid, I'd get justice too. You know it's messed up because you were there and you've dealt with 17yo kids who've already been to prison for murder a couple times correct. Otherwise you don't know if it was messed up or not

The cops can only hit open handed ?? wheres that law written at? I don't know for certain but doubt it would be law. It would be something like code of conduct or procedure manual for that agency/state. That's just for Auburn police

The cops can only hit open handed ?? wheres that law written at? is that not right? If it is right the people who passed that law need a kick in the nads for being so stupid. A cop is getting pounded and hes supposed to bitch slap a 6'4 250# democrat off him? geesh i didnt think thats what we were talking about here. I'm saying if 2-3 officers have the kid down and they cant get his hands behind his back, I dont think they're supposed to have balled up fists and beat him in the face. I thought they were trained differently, although i could be wrong.

Hoggin used to be an officer, depending on where he worked it could be a handful up to maybe double digits.
17 year olds who have done been to prison a couple of times for murder and walking around on the street. Yea right.

No, they're supposed to beat him with a damn stick. I wouldn't bruise my fist on one of them bastards, I'd beat him with a nightstick or a gun barrel. I think the cops should be REQUIRED to beat the hell of anyone who did something to get arrested.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

The cops can only hit open handed ?? wheres that law written at? I don't know for certain but doubt it would be law. It would be something like code of conduct or procedure manual for that agency/state. There is no law like that. There is only the policy that is generally accepted by everyone, and it may even be in the Federal Code somewhere, that LEOs are to use only the minimal amount of force necessary to effect an arrest. So relating this back to this case, the kid was behind some buildings and the officer wanted to question him. He ran, officers caught him. The first question that has to be answered is what did they arrest him for? Running from the police is not a crime. Did the officer have a reasonable suspicion that a crime was being committed or about to be committed? I don't know, but if he did, that gave him the right to question the kid, but not the right to arrest him. If the officer doesn't have probable cause for an arrest he is in trouble. You can't say "Well the kid resisted arrest" because you have to be under arrest to resist arrest. This one could get interesting, but those wanting to protest need to do so peaceably and let the Feds look at the case, because they will be, be assured of that.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

So if a cop walks up and says I need to talk with you and you run, that isn't against the law? Correct. Running isn't against the law. Running from police can be used a reasonable suspicion to pursue the guy, though. And talking to the police isn't obligatory. In fact, we have a thing called the 5th amendment to the constitution that is a pesky little detail that allows us as citizens not to be forced to talk to police. EVEN if you're innocent or uninvolved with a crime or potential crime. Our forefathers really were brilliant.

Well if the cop is placing you under arrest and then you take off they can charge you with evading arrest. Some states you can even be slapped with evading arrest if you know that person is a police officer and you run.

Well if the cop is placing you under arrest and then you take off they can charge you with evading arrest. Some states you can even be slapped with evading arrest if you know that person is a police officer and you run. Not in Alabama, which by the way, is where this occurred. Now some cities, like the one I worked in, have a catch-all, won't hold constitutional muster, Ordinance titled "Refusing to Obey a Reasonable Order By an Officer". So if you run and an officer tells you to stop you broke that law. On more than one occasion I've seen that be the only charge an officer can come up with when they catch the guy. BTW, being arrested is different. That is why the first question this officer must answer is, what was he arrested for?

how many of them do you know? silliest thing i've heard all week I don't know anyone involved personally but with over 10 years in the streets of west Birmingham to reflect back on, Im comfortable thinking you're one to run your mouth with little to none on knowledge or experience and yes I used to know of several 17 yo, 16 yo 13yo and even one 10yo that had already been convicted of one or more murder/ att. murder charges and were out. Not enough room and if not tried as an adult, which is way less common than it should be, it would blow your mind how fast they get out when under age.

I couldn't list all the 13-17 YOA kids that committed murders or shot someone trying to kill them. I give you two names that I personally arrested numerous times and then they finally shot, killed, and robbed a City Worker that stopped to help them when their car broke down late at night. One is on death row, unless it has been commuted to life since he was a juvie when it occurred. The other is his brother who took a plea for a life sentence.
Matthew and Julius Reeves. Pretty sure you can look them up on the ADOC website.
A quick search didn't show Matthew but Julius is still in Holman with 999years, 99 months and 364 days left to serve.
I hope they didn't let Mathew out. Probably the most cold blooded person I ever came across. I always felt like he was worse than Julius.

Matthew and Julius Reeves. Pretty sure you can look them up on the ADOC website. Unbelievable. We had a discussion in our church small group about helping people and "Christian duty." It was nearly unanimous that it wasn't worth the risk anymore. Sad it has to be that way but you hear about stuff like this way too much.

The 10yo I mention above had killed 4 people and shot 13 that could be proven before he himself was killed at the age of 14. hard to do a lot with someone that age, thats the reason he shot people for pocket change when told to do so
Fat Tony, funny little kid that was hard and smart way beyond his years. I always said in a different environment it would have been unreal what his intelligence, lack of fear and level of commitment could have accomplished
