So you have seen the videos, or have first hand knowledge of what the fight was like, and what force was necessary for the officer to protect themself?

From all accounts I have read and heard, the guy made a choice to run from the cops, resist arrest, and make repeated attempts to go for his waistband. I have no reason to doubt any of this. The moral of the story: play stupid games, win stupid prizes. We can't forget that a handgun was recovered either.

I am thankful the officer lived and deadly force was not used by anyone.

Has anyone said how much experience the arresting officer has? I think they should always include that in the story.

how many of them do you know?

rofl silliest thing i've heard all week

I don't know anyone involved personally but with over 10 years in the streets of west Birmingham to reflect back on, Im comfortable thinking you're one to run your mouth with little to none on knowledge or experience

and yes I used to know of several 17 yo, 16 yo 13yo and even one 10yo that had already been convicted of one or more murder/ att. murder charges and were out.
Not enough room and if not tried as an adult, which is way less common than it should be, it would blow your mind how fast they get out when under age.

Hope your beat was not Wylam or around that area being west birmingham.

West Ensley Wylam and Dolomite for about half of it from the Brickyard at 20th and P to the Fairfield city limits all the way over to Hueytown

Wynnonah powderly and West end the other half

I was in a gun fight 18min into my first shift and it really got wild after that slow start
Worst damn area I have ever been around. Ensley and Wylam was a great place to be up to about the early 80's I think it was. We had a house on Lexington Street back about 10 yrs ago, and couldnt give it away with 7 acres. I would go over to cut grass at 5am to try and avoid the bad stuff there. I was cutting grass with two Berreta's seriously.
Wylam was a decent little town until the Bank moved out. My family had a business there for years. After the Bank closed and the Pleasant Grove traffic started going around, it went down hill. Reviera's grocery started getting robbed and then they had a shoot out and Miller finally closed it down. I remember that day like it was yesterday.

Hard to give him a fat lip or a black eye.

I agree, although that's not applicable here due to the fact he was a juvenile.

I think it is very applicable, but the information will not be released due to his age. From what I have been told the guy has quite the record.

Thugs use juveniles to commit assault and shootings due to protection society gives them. I think these protections need to be removed. There are very few good kids that need it.
