What's the smallest tract you would seriously consider buying for deer hunting purposes? I recently read an article about a guy that bought a 13 acre tract solely for deer hunting and that got me to wondering. I see several tracts on land reality sites under 50 acres that are really reasonable when you look at the price. Just curious.

It would depend 100% on the layout of the property and what surrounds it. A good hardwood plot that isn't too hilly or a gully, surrounded by other good property, sure.

There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

2. All Gun Laws Are an Infringement
3. Taxation Is Theft

As little as an 1 acre in the right spot.

Mybuddy has one of the bigger deer I've ever seen on camera at his acre. Literally one acre of land and I think 7 different bucks use it

We will burn that bridge when we get there

I have a 12 acre tract that I have killed 3 nice bucks off of in the 5 years I've owned it. It is surrounded by about 1500 acres that isn't hunted or not legally hunted anyway so that helps. It is the smallest tract I own but definitely the most productive for big bucks.

One of the best places I've ever hunted was a 5 acre wood lot. It bottle necked into a gap in a bluff. The deer would come thru the 5 acres and work their way off the bluff in the mornings. I only got to hunt it 1 year. Owners son didn't like sharing it.

My Uncle owns 160 acres in Perry county. Our neighbor owns 15. Both tracts are surrounded by National forest which leaves us all with several hundred acres to hunt.

I have 13 acres total in 3 adjoining tracts that has deer, rabbits and squirrels on it. It backs up to a lot of privately owned wilderness/mature hardwoods that a couple of people hunt just a little bit. My son got his first bow kill there, my daughter-in-law killed her first deer there and my grandson got his 2nd deer there. They've all killed deer since then on that place. I don't hunt it, just let them have 1 each per year if they want it.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

For deer hunting purposes only, probably 5-10 acres.

For recreational purposes, I'd like to have at least 40.

I don't always hunt the line, but when I do, I make sure I'm close to my neighbor's 8 acre bean field.

The smallest I would consider buying would be 160 acres. I have and would hunt smaller tracts, but wouldn't want to buy them because the value of your property as a hunting property is too dependent upon the land use decisions of adjacent landowners.

My mother owns 52 acres, 12 of it is wooded, the rest is pasture.
On that 12 acres I have pics from one camera of no less than 10 different bucks in a 30 day span. Most all at night however.
We call it "The Night Club".

You can do it off a few acres, but I think I'd like about 75 for a little elbow room and for the timber.

One of the best friends that I ever had, who has passed on, always said he only needed a place big enough to park his truck. He was known to be a piddler and couldn't see imaginary lines wink God rest his soul.
