In a recent conversation with someone out of state....the subject of trailcams came up and he said it had REVOLUTIONIZED HIS TURKEY HUNTING!!! Say what???

He said now he only he had to spend 7 days at the most in the woods to get his limit! So he absolutely misses the point of being there and trying to outsmart one along with all the other things that I enjoy. He had something like 25 cams running on two parcels only he hunts and when a gobbler showed up the same place and same time 2 days in arow...3rd day he was waiting on him. Like PCP I spilled toothpaste and fast...in fact, I more or less threw the tube on the floor and stomped it! Using trailcams to see how many you have..absolutely! The way he is doing it...absolutely not!

I started out with you %@$#&^@%$@ millenials...and went the hill skiing and knocking down gates as I went. I think I was DQ'ed halfway down the course!

That is absolutely no way to hunt a wild turkey. That is purely killing. Of course, I feel about the same way of folks shooting pen raised mallards and calling it duck hunting.

Sounds like ambushing. If he's waiting on them to show up to a spot two days in a row. However, I've had some well laid out plans the night before, only to leave there the next morning with my head hung and cussing.

You pretty much just summed up how everyone uses cameras to hunt deer. How is this any different?

While I don't necessarily believe in ambushing turkeys, you are 100% correct.

Ive not seen one deer do the same thing two days in a row all season. If that was what i was waiting on, i would never go hunting.

Checking all those camera cards seems like more work than actually hunting. I usually run 1 or 2 cameras starting in august or september for a couple months just to see whats on the property in deer season but I get tired of checking them and just hunt. I couldnt imagine the labor invloved checking that many cameras

Reckon this 7 day hunter has a little “yellow yelper” out?

Y'all ever try setting out Turkey trotlines? Easiest way ever to hunt Turkey. No cameras needed, no scouting needed, don't even need camo. All you need is a can of corn and a standard catfish trotline. Don't even have to shoot them if you don't want to. Just walk up and wring their necks. thumbup

If his turkeys are anything like mine then that's about the only way to kill one. Our birds DO NOT gobble. AT ALL! Like I've heard one gobble in 3 years. It's so bad that I rarely even turkey hunt that properly any more.

I think I'm just gonna buy about 50 of the text a picture cameras and spread them out over the farm. Then just sit by the fire until I get a text of a shooter, and then commence the stalk. If you can't beat them, join them. smile

MT you arent' a millenial too are you??? and got your feelings hurt when I used that language on one of your fellow brethren?
I don't often express a whole lot of opinion except when I feel really strongly about something and furthermore I didn't ask him if he give a #%#^ about my opinion I just gave it to him...To each his own!

Sounds like you are the one who has their feelings hurt. Tearing into a guy hunting his own land legally who gives a crap if you don't agree with how he does it. How does that affect you? If you don't want to run cameras then don't.
