I have a friend that has the 4 gal Bayou and changes peanut oil once a year! I was hoping someone that has one could advise if they are worth the money and/or which brand they choose and why. Thanks.

I filter the oil a couple times a year but only change the oil one a year but not even sure if you need to do it that often. No need to use peanut oil. I’ve seen several made by other companies that are not as well built. Saw one today in Academy but did not look at manufacturer . No need to spend the extra$ on stainless steel if your not leaving it out in the weather. Just my experience hope it helps.

The 2.5 gets used way more than the 4 gallon... Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!
