Other than the stock issue ( which is good to know , thanks doc), the pro hunters shoots lights out . I have a 7 mm Rem mag that is a tack driver. Not the smallest , or lightest rifle out there, but a really good rifle.
I do know the safety's on the early models gave some trouble to some people, though I have never experienced it myself. Yeah, the stocks have always been their weak point. I've seen more than one broke at the wrist... Other than that they are great rifles. If you have a short action, you can get a replacement stock for around $70.00 from Numrich. Long and magnum action stocks are $275.00 and only available from Steyr. I bought the last long action Steyr stock that Numrich had about 4 months ago...a camo one at that...for $99. I felt like I stole it. You SUCK!!  I needed it 2 weeks ago
