Well it's sorted, weighed and bagged. 65 pounds of #5, only had a bit over 6 pounds of rejects, and those will get melted down into ingots for the 30-40 Krag. The 7-1/2 shot ended up at 122 pounds. Very little lost to bad coolant this time. So all an all no complains on my end. Totally happy with the shotmaker performance. I learned a ton and the experience is invaluable.

Did some shooting and settled in on H335 for my 7.62x39 upper. It really seems to like it in two different loadings vs others. Settled in on a load for the Hi Point 45 carbine and therefore found a use for 2 bottles of 1990's era AA#5 I've had floating around. In the RR itself I prepped a bunch of 44 Mag brass for the Henry I have ordered. Wanted a lever action handgun caliber since I sold my Ruger 99/44 a thousand years ago. The micro groove rifling in it just would not shoot SWC worth a damn and back then I was casting my own bullets. I wasn't about to by jacketed stuff...lol

Loaded and tested 45-70 load using IMR 4198 and 300gr Sierra HP/FN.

Settled on a load after testing and loaded up 60rds.

Pulled some 7mm-08 rounds that were loaded with surplus BLC-2. They were waaaaay to hot.

Primed some starline 30-30 with Unis Ginex LRP and Remington 30-06 with CCI 200's

The Unis Ginex are larger than CCI's. They were really tight in the Starline 30-30 and wouldn't seat flush in the Remington 30-06

Today's project is to assemble the shot graphite powder tumbler. I finished getting all the parts needed to make my tumbler. New bucket, round 3/8" cast floor flange, bolts nuts and washers to secure the flange to the bucket bottom. 3" nipple to go in flange to attach to the motor shaft with a section of new heater hose and clamps. Four 2" rigid casters for the home Depot bucket to rotate on. I still need to wire up the motor (done), screw some 2x1 Short furring strips into my red harbor freight bucket to act as paddles and we're ready to go. Video link below. Test run to see if it works.

If anyone wants to build a similar tumbler most of t parts can be found at home Depot. I used a 1/2" floor flange and a 3" nipple to connect the bucket to the motor shaft with a piece of heavy duty heater hose and two hose clamps. A 5" 1/8 round aluminum disc with four bolt holes drilled in it to match the hole pattern on the floor flange., 1-1/2" bolts, washers, nuts to attach to the bottom of the bucket after drilling matching holes in bottom of bucket. You can use wood furring attached to the inside of the bucket with screws and washers for paddles or apply the paddles to another bucket that you can slip inside the drive buck, using the drive bucket as a carrier for the paddled bucket. Easier to empty the tumbler regardless of what you're tumbling.
