31 days & counting folks .... yep, just killin' time ...
so today's hot burning Q is - do you personally consider turkey hunters who tag out to be "better" turkey hunters? outside of this message board, i only personally know of one or two folks that have ever done it in a season, and most of them have not regularly repeated the feat of taking 5 birds in a 6 week season in AL year over year ...
what constitutes a "turkey killer" in your mind?

I think it's a combination of being better "woodsman" and having "better land".............I also think it's a sliding scale that varies from hunter to hunter. I know some people that I honest-to-God don't think are particularly great turkey hunters who kill the crap out of birds. They also happen to have sole hunting rights to private land that is covered in birds where I'm convinced even I could limit out under the same circumstances.

I think it is a mixture of being a better woodsman and having great land that is covered up with birds... It stands to reason that someone that has been hunting birds for 15-20-25 years will be better at it than someone who has only been hunting them a couple years..

Hunting in Florida our limit is 2 per season so if you have birds on your property it's not hard to limit out for the season. I think the guys who limit out have good turkey hunting skills combined with good land and plenty of time to hunt during the season.

I thinks so,some luck up and kill a limit from time to time but someone that can kill a limit every year and call up birds for others to kill knows what they're doing, they just ain't getting lucky,I know a couple of folks that can kill a turkey on any property they go to if ones there, doesn't have to be covered up in birds either

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Just means they have good number of turkeys, patience, time to hunt them and little calling ability

Can the damn season just start already......
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

Years ago it wouldn't even matter if it was turkey season.
