It's because there's not 3 does per buck left to kill in a lot if not most areas of the state. That's why we always have the conversation about our population being substantially lower each year. A long time ago, we were on the DMAP and really did need to kill the does. We were very protective on our bucks. After 4 years of hammering our does, it was easier to see rack bucks in our greenfields than it was to see does. We totally reversed it. Instead of seeing 5 or 6 does in a plot and the occasional buck, we were seeing 5-6 bucks and the occasional doe.
Does get smart too.
