My goals for this season are to be a better husband,father,and poppy to my wife,children,and grandchildren,I want to be a better friend,and co-worker,but most of all I want to be a better christian to serve the Lord,and I would like to kill a few turkeys if at all possible! All of this except the grandchildren. Don’t have those. Most of that gets put on hold during turkey season, except the Christian part.

Get my first turkey. My club has tons of em and I wanna learn how to kill em.
Learn a little bout calling turkeys and locating them. If I could call turkeys As good as I do ducks they would be in trouble. will drive to go with you and teach you, getting people their first is probably the best feeling in the turkey woods to me

Learn a little bout calling turkeys and locating them. If I could call turkeys As good as I do ducks they would be in trouble. I'm sure you know this but calling ain't the the most important thing. Just like with ducks, you gotta be where he wan't to be and no amount of perfect calling is going to get him there if he doesn't want to go there. How many times have you seen the flooded field over the next levee loaded with so many ducks that you could walk across their backs but your spread is empty? As you know, even a novice caller can make a greenhead lock his wings set down in the decoys if he does everything else right. And even the world champion caller can't make every duck turn and drop his wings at 25 yards if he's not set up right. Knowing your woods and figuring out what he's gonna do is the most important thing. Calling is important, just not the most critical part of killing a turkey. Go as often as you can and the turkeys will teach you everything you need to know. Good luck and post up the pic when you bust that first one! Dr. B

Go more than I did last year. Kill at least 2 in AL with my limited time and even more limited places to hunt with birds. Have a blast in TX, which I always do.
