That's great. I have saved up enough to pay mine off but with tax time coming I decided to hold onto it until I see how much that hurts before I stroke that check. Do t want to leave myself short of cash.

That's great. No house note is hard to beat. Only downside is you don't have the interest paid to claim on next years taxes. I have a feeling you're ok with that though. Now go and invest all of that extra money wisely.  While I understand the tax break on interest, I'll take paying taxes any day compared to paying interest on a house note, you will always lose. 95% of people will claim the standard $24,000 deduction for 2018 anyway. Pay that mortgage off. It's not "helping" you any more.

Congrats! In 18 months I will Be in a similar position God willing. Our vehicles are paid off now And House will be in 18 months or sooner from Now. Will still have Credit Card debt though. I am 42 years old and I do not want to be in debt and trapped to the system No longer and just as little as I have to be.

Congrats! Just curious, but how old are you? I'm 48. It was always my goal to be debt free by 50, and I'm there ahead of schedule We had planned to pay it off in December, but I did the math on how much interest we'd pay waiting another 9 months, and decided to go ahead and pay it off now.
