Here's some of my criteria for business ventures:

- Is it scaleable???? If you're working as a one-man business, are you able to hire and delegate tasks to employees? If not, you'll eventually reach a ceiling where you can only do so much by yourself. So you start a lawn service, if you handle business right you'll eventually get to a point where you can't take on additional customers because you can only do so much. Not a great long-term business plan because it's 100% dependent on you

- " Don't go for the get rich quick, go for the get rich for sure." - Grant Cardone

- Who can help you level up? Who is already doing this business model and doing it at a high level? Are there training programs out there that I can go through? Can I hire a coach or consultant to help me grow it faster and with less headaches?

- If everything went perfect and I became swamped with business, what would that kind of lifestyle look like for me? How many hours would I have to work? How much stress would it put on my family and personal life? Is that what I want my life to look like if things were to really take off?

I would like to do lawn care full-time but I'm afraid I would starve in the Winter time. I cut one yard right now and help another guy from time-to-time and I see the potential in it.

To me, this seems like a business ripe for disruption.
Anyone else in that business afraid of roomba lawnmowers, especially 5-10years?

What is your option with Alabama power? Seems that would be good....unless you just mean that you could see yourself work for them?

Got any particular skills or trades?

What is the grocery background?

One thing I have learned by running my own business is that it takes money to make money and the more you make the more you spend. I’ve got a couple of guys that help me here and there when I need them and I’m about to hire someone full time during the summer. I take care of the guys who help me which goes along way but the Lawncare deal is good but it takes good customers to make it work. I’ve got some that are loyal and some that arnt. One of the problems with it is the low balling people that want a few yards to cut just during the summer so they will under cut your price just to get the yard. Some people will stick with who they know but some will get somebody else over five or ten dollars.

How does selling shrimp out of a van sound to you?

Seriously, leverage up on your skill set and expertise. I’d imagine you have good supply chain mangement skills. Put that to use for wholesale distributing, specialty food/fruit market, etc.
