Why pay a park when the best riding is free... The biggest hills and deepest mud holes are maintained by pipeline and power companies
Because paying to ride at a park limits the chances you'll get arrested for trespassing. Those utility ROW's are usually just easements and not owned by the utility. The property owner may take offense to piddling on your UTV through their property.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

I'm sure that is true out in the country but a lot of what we ride is owned my coal companies, US steel, ACIPCO, the railroad ect. Piddling is what thieves and people up to no good do.. We just go riding. Ill take my chances with johnny law vs a park full of ignorant drunks that can't drive.. I've ridden most of the older parks around and that's where stuff gets taken out of the bed of your truck or you see someone get hurt.

Stoney Lonesome is about 1.5 hours or so from Tuscaloosa. Supposedly they are No alcohol at all now. No alcohol on the trail but still allowed at the camp. They check you when you go out on the trails. Don't leave your stuff unattended.. Had a buddy get the bumpers stolen off his jeep while he was watching a UTV race at stoney

All this riding talk got me to thinking on something. I grew up riding US steel, coal company, etc land that is now all leased by hunting clubs. Would it be worth paying? If so, how much to have a large piece of land (with good road and trail system) close to bham to ride on with a select group (say 6 members) for 6 months out of the year. They'd probably do enough damage to the roads etc to make it financially a bad decision.

We've came up on crews that were working on smoothing off hills and grading roads.. He told us to keep on keeping on, we kept him in a job. There was a wild fire behind grandriver mall in Leeds on the land that is now that north cabana hunting club.. We showed the forestry commission how to get back to the fire and they later thanked us because our trails has created fire breaks through the woods

Minooka in Jemison is a great place, Pea Ridge in Montevallo is a good place to ride also...
